Not the best barleywine (more of a mix of a barleywine and a holiday ale), but it contains 50cls @9.5% so it'll warm me up and give me a buzz. All I need right now.
If it's anything to go by, I'd certainly buy it again. And not just cause it was cheap.http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/haandbryggeriet-jaekel/251872/

I prefer craft beers and like trying the weirder and more wonderful offerings I can find, but of the mass produced ones I really enjoy Old Speckled Hen.

Oof… Now thàt's hard to answer... Imagine Dulle Teve with a bit more complexity... I always compare it as calvados w/ candy sugar... It's blond, slightly sweet, 12%; in short it's just BRILLIANT...
From RateBeer (random review):
Pours golden with whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, fruits, apricot, some alcohol, apples. Flavor is sweet, fruits, apples, apricot, malt, some booze. Finish has some dry bitterness.

Grabbed a six pack of this today at the store, very nice.
And also snagged one of these, the normal BBH was fantastic last year. On chocolate it's even better / smoother.
Some barrel aged beers really slap you in the face (in the mouth?) with flavor but not this beer. I find that to be a very, very good thing.
