I'm sticking with my normal size on these.  The measurements appear to be pretty much the same as the 706.  I tried sizing down on those (the 15 oz. version), and it did not work so well for me.  For me, the thigh was the problem.

i wouldn't go down, but as always a personal preference.  I did on the first round (ih 705) and always regretted it.  While they stretch a bit, they also shrink a bit with wash.  I was a 30 in the 705 and measurements just about the same this round.  would have done a 31, but alas no black 31's left.  Even considering a 32 as I tried a 33 in 705 and was almost able to make them work

I'm really bummed out that I missed out on these. After all those months of waiting. I probably couldn't have afforded them right now anyway. I haven't worked in 3 months. Oh well.

                      Thanks @D97x7 @Midgegante @bushmonkey , Although I'm still none the wiser 😃

I need a 37" waist after stretch, so it's either a tagged 36 with a belt, or a tagged 35 and risk them being toight in the waist…. 2" stretch is possibly a little too much to hope for. That being said, I notice that the rise is high so it might work out. Fuck it, I just don't know...

Also @Giles , do you know if olive 34's are one of the missing sizes that we're waiting on or if you've sold out already?

@neph93 I'm generally 37"'waist and I wear W36 in all my IH jeans and chino's including the 705's, and they're a comfortable fit and I wouldn't advise sizing down - they're also extremely beefy, but very comfy, and I haven't noticed any stretch, nor can I imagine it really happening without a lot of effort.

@tmg that's a great help, thank you. I was edging towards the W36, now I'm pretty sure. I tend to go W35 in IH jeans, when it's available, or a measured 35" in the 21oz denim because when I've always got about 2" of stretch out of them.

On another, "off thread"-note, your old Vibergs are loving the Norwegian winter, and I'm loving your old Vibergs. I look forward to pairing them with these beasts.

No, no, I really appreciate the contribution.  I didn't mean to sound rude… [emoji29]I think it was an even draw between will stretch/won't stretch until @tmg weighed in. So that's what I meant by "none the wiser" [emoji28]. At the end og the day I'm sure there'll be a little stretch, but 2" is a bit of an ask.

Co-incidentally, that fit you have is the kind I want. Looking great. I always like the background in your fit pics. Beautiful looking house. May I ask where it is?

Remember this stuff is one washed so it is more likely to stretch more than unwashed pants. Giles might have a comment about this.

What's a trip is this feels almost twice the thickness of the 15 oz. 706…. Incredible.  Curious to see how well these soften up with wear.

As for sizing, I went with my usual tag (34), even though the actual measurements are an inch larger than normal (35" vs. my normal 34").  I fit 34" in all IH pants, otherwise.  Not sure why or how it worked out this way, but I went with the 34s and they fit perfectly out of the blue bag.

How does the material & fit compare on these to the 701?
