Also had this over the weekend. Big Elm is local to me in Western Ma, mom in law works there. Putting out some really great stuff like this barrel aged gem. On or above the level or similar big name offerings.

Alpine is coming out with a lot of great stuff!  I got the chance to take a weeknight trip to my favorite tavern. Maine Lunch on tap so it was a must.

Took advantage of a few more
BCBS just amazing, good in bottle better on tap by far

@Traser2g Lunch and BCBS not a bad night…BCBS is really good this year.

You ever make it up to Treehouse?  Just had my first experience with two of their beers (green and julius)...phenominal.  Maryland is pretty weak right now 😞

@Ndubya94 I haven't been but plan to go soon. I'm about 90 min away. I had Julius and Twenty three over the Holidays and actually just got a couple different ones in trade today that I'll report on Sunday during football. Honestly the most impressive beer I've had recently is the Foley Bros Pieces of 8. Had that and a Heady same day and I felt it was more impressive.

@Traser2g Interesting…I know some people are coming off Heady now given that so many other breweries up that way are making beers on that level.  I would take anything at this point from up there haha.  Even though IPAs aren't my favorite style, it would still be nice to have quality selections but, that is almost non-existent in our area at this point.

The UNDEAD OF WINTER seems to be quite new... No entry on RateBeer, and an entry on BeerAdvocate but no reviews yet...

@Seul the Undead is from Big Elm, a microbrewery in Western MA.  The 2 head brewers trained under the brewmasters at Victory and they are putting out phenomenal products. They just picked up distribution so the brand should travel outside the area. I am a huge fan and they brewery is awesome!

Not usually a fan of sweet stouts but the 15% AVB definitely helps.

Defo pick up the Yule Maelk if you come across it… Still sweet, still 15%, but the cognac and sherry barrel aging give it much more depth...

Finally get to drink this'un again. Been a couple of years. The best Flemish Old Brown ale out there. So smooth, and 13%. Mindblowing really.
