First World Problems

MacBook Pro has a hardware fail. Have not had a (personal) computer for over a week. I now read books in the evening. I'm living in the dark ages.

@BloodnThunder which MBP is it? if it was the early 2011 ones or so, i believe there is a recall program in which i had my logic board replaced.

@louisbosco yep that's around when I picked mine up. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely ask about that if it's not mentioned when I take it into Apple this weekend.

@BloodnThunder no worries mate. and i'm sorry. i may not have specified clearly, but they were 15in and 17in models.

@BloodnThunder , @louisbosco - just had mine done under the scheme too. but it does finish feb 2016. 15" late 2011 - scrambled graphics then shut down before getting to desktop , then red tint to whole screen. they'll run diagnostic check in the store. nice to leave the shop without giving them any more of my money.
if you can, make sure you back up (if you have access to another mac with firewire you can boot in to target mode). -
Definitely crossing my fingers that the issue is related to this bit of hardware. If not….. I expect to spend more money than I want to.

I feel you @BloodnThunder - my computer gave up late this summer. I know it's just a computer, but it's fucking shit to not have a computer when you're living alone haha. Didn't enjoy having to buy a new one. Well, it's awesome and I can game again but it sure as hell wasn't "in the budget". I've got my fingers crossed for you as well!

For sure. At this point I am looking at it as either I spend $300-$400 on a computer repair or about the same on an addition to my IH collection. I know which I prefer.
Technology. It's awesome. When it works.

Realising it will take me absolutely years to put some decent wear on any of my denim jackets, or leather jacket, as I do absolutely nothing in them other than walk the dog and go to the supermarket :-\

I swear it's the climate, it's either too hot for a jacket or so cold you could freeze your nuts off. I spend half my year in tee shirts and the other half in hoodies and a parka….....oh the humanity :o

First World Problem extreme - I'm so full but my artisan made olive bread and ardennes pate will be stale by tomorrow so I have to carry on eating. Oh the humanity !!
