Ok, I accept that as an excuse 😃 😉

Well, the fit above doesn't look bad but if your goal is too achieve a slimmer fit, I am not sure if Samurai will be the brand you should choose. The S003JP would be slimmer or the 711 (tight straight fit).

A size down…you have enough room in the knee area and below the knee. But only you know how much room your current size 36 gives you 🙂

Thinking of buying myself another pair of jeans for my birthday and was looking through BIG's sizing charts and was wondering if a W35 0500x would fit me better than my W36 710xx.

Would the 0500x give me a more fitted look? Any advice/input would be appreciated…

          @1fookntitefd:

Here's a fit pic of my size 36 after another wash. I don't think there's anymore shrinkage left.

Based on this picture, would a 35 be a "proper size" for this cut or should I be looking at a different model?

The 0500 in size 35 would look nearly the same as a 710 in size 36.
So still, if you wanan go slimmer, size down on the 710

I recently bought some Samurai Jeans s710xx 24oz from 2nd Japan.  I received them last week.  I then soaked them and let them dry.  When I tried them on and got them fully buttoned, I noticed the top button got very loose.  Is this normal?  Is it due to the thick denim or is this a defective button?  It bothers me because these are brand new jeans.  Does anyone know if its possible to get a replacement button and get it put on the jeans?  I have several pairs of Samurai Jeans, as well as, Iron Hearts.  I've never had this problem before.  Should I worry or just try to let it go?  I've attached some picks, thanks!

Thanks for the response, however; I'm kinda OCD and would like to get a replacement button from Samurai.  I did email them and also 2nd Japan.  Hopefully they will respond but I don't think 2nd's staff speaks English.

@714hamilton281 that is definitely not how it should look, but also not terribly unusual on heavy denim.  I do not have any experience with Samurai but if they are anything like Iron Heart I suspect they will ask you to send the jeans back so they can be repaired or have a new pair sent to you…...  Assuming you have not hemmed them yet.

I think even if he got them hemmed, Samurai should stand behind their product and do what needs to be done to fix the issue. I'm sure they will.

I had a similar issue with the button on my S710OG. I asked the shop I bought them from about a replacement button and they send me one free of cost (bought from Kaizoku Pirates).
I am not sure if 2nd will also do this or if Samurai will answer

Sandy from Samurai will most probably send you a new button if you contact Samurai directly and tell them the manufacturers number. I even got a replacement patch on my limited 500XX with the same model number. How cool is that?

Oh, on a sidenote: the top button of one pair of mine felt loose as well. BiG sent me a replacement that I didn't have to use so far. So they might just hold up fine.

Yeap, it has the best leather of any belt I have ever owned.  My only problem it's so beefy I feel like it's wearing me if I put on anything other than denim.

Thanks for all the advice and sharing all your experiences on this issue.  Very helpful!  Just got a response from 2nd and Samurai. Basically, 2nd will not do anything about it. On the other hand, Samurai responded saying that this was normal due to the thick denim. They told me the solution was not to replace the button but to strengthen it. If I send them the jeans, they could firm up the button. I would have to pay the shipping, which I'm fine with. I'm just glad they responded with a solution and I'm going to send the jeans to them.

I had a similar experience when I bought a Redmoon wallet a few years ago.  I had the wallet for 4 months and the concho fell off.  I contacted Redmoon and they told me they could fix it but I had to pay for the shipping and repair.  It sucked, but what could I do?  I went ahead and got it fixed.  It ended up costing around $80.

At least this time around, Samurai isn't charging for the repair.
                                          Thanks guys!

I'm not sure I buy their excuse, I have some 25oz Samurai's and the buttons are all fine, not to mention multiple pairs of Iron Heart with insanely thick denim which are also fine. It simply looks like a dodgy QC inspection job to me, they should just admit liability and fix it.
