I have had this shirt for a year (or two - I honestly cant remember when these came out) but I have never dared to wash it.  I WOULD like it to shrink but worry about the lining issue you mentioned. What happened? If I do want it to be smaller what would recommend?  Do you advise against wash and dry in the machine?

I've washed mine three times at 30 degrees on a very low spin.  It hasn't shrunk anywhere. I strongly suspect that if you wash it hot (60 degrees or more) the flannel will shrink. It's cotton. The lining is polyester; a hot wash/machine dry might well fuck it up. I wouldn't risk it.
