40 degrees will not shrink anything . You're all good on that. 30 would be even better
It will shrink wool, especially Merino or Cashmere, but I am being pedantic… I know you are refering to most IH gear.
Tru dat ^
….and as giles will tell you, alot of the shrinkage comes from the agitation of the cotton fibres in the washing machine drum.

just reading the 634 world tour thread. You ever think about doing a world tour with some of the new denim?

Tours are great when people are into it, the White Knights tour we did a while back was awesome and over on SuFu there have been some great posts from shared jeans.
As Giles says, if a group of people are really into it and someone can organise and manage it properly it's a fun thing to participate in/ watch.

G, am I correct by assuming that all IH-loomstate-bottom-denims are made slightly oversized so they can shrink to the measurements a sanforized/washed model would have?
If so, what is the best procedure to shrink/soak those denims (cold, lukewarm, warm, hot?) to achieve the best results for the fit and the denim itself?
