Stuck at London Heathrow waiting for @Sarina to get through the longest immigration queue for non EEC nationals I have ever seen….

@dylantbmayes this was last night's menu, with Aussie wines (of course):

welcome drink - glass of chilled red sparkling wine (lovely!)

carpaccio of ostrich fillet steak - with glass red wine (very tasty, but a bit too "meaty" for me, wine was nice!)

fillet of baramundi with macadamia nut crust - with an unusual Australian Riesling (fish was FAB, not too sure about the wine though)

kangaroo and watercress burgers - with red wine (was not hungry by this point, tasted good though and wine was nice!)

papaya pavlova - with orange muscat & flora dessert wine (very good)

So I have no idea if you would consider any of that "traditional" Aussie food, but it was a very pleasant evening (sadly not an Australian in sight!)

There are definitely some Australia animals on that menu, @Madame Buttonfly… Not sure about Ostrich though, Emu are Aussie.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't consider it 'traditional', except for the pav... Love a good Pavlova!

They really need me there, in an Akubra and Driza-Bone, for a more traditional feel.

Sorry to hear you couldn't make it over to Gosvegas @trail and arrow - I hope that things get resolved.

But if you'd succeeded in dragging me over from Australia then there would have been trouble!
