Just last night a current affairs show, 'The Project', interviewed a woman serving gourmet Possum Pies…
Apparently they are very popular and delicious.

@dylantbmayes this was last night's menu, with Aussie wines (of course):
welcome drink - glass of chilled red sparkling wine (lovely!)
carpaccio of ostrich fillet steak - with glass red wine (very tasty, but a bit too "meaty" for me, wine was nice!)
fillet of baramundi with macadamia nut crust - with an unusual Australian Riesling (fish was FAB, not too sure about the wine though)
kangaroo and watercress burgers - with red wine (was not hungry by this point, tasted good though and wine was nice!)
papaya pavlova - with orange muscat & flora dessert wine (very good)
So I have no idea if you would consider any of that "traditional" Aussie food, but it was a very pleasant evening (sadly not an Australian in sight!)
