One of those PERFECT beers… I could drink a million of this... So sad this costs 7.85€/ bottle here  😞

Not sure how I feel about this…very fruity, kinda tart, and all in all pretty pleasant taste. Just not what I think of when I think beer. Could be really dangerous on a super hot day at 9.2%...

I also felt the same way about Blushing Monk @jdl1279 , really does sneak up on you. Doesn't really taste like beer at all almost.
And @neph93 if you like super heavy IPA's that will destroy you I recommend picking up the RuinTen!

Prairie Ale is solid, haven't had it in a couple years but worth drinking.

So my local bottle shop sent out an email bragging about getting a limited selection of Alvinne (specifically Podge, Sigma and Kerasus 2014). Are these worth getting? I had Omega last year and enjoyed it.
I'm still learning about Belgian beers, so I figured I'd come here to ask the expert and in-house Belgian @Seul his thoughts!

Alvinne had quality issues until recently… Lots of infected beers... They've grown past it, or so I heard, but I had two beers made by 'm and one was infected and the other one just sucked... Have one more here... I'll let you know how that is... It's theiir 2nd highest rated beer:

                            http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/alvinne-cuvee-de-mortagne/172389/

So basically: if they're fresh, try 'm... But as of right now, they will need to work hard at convincing me they're anything but a mediocre brewery... What they try to do is admirable, I guess...

Chimay Rouge for me last night. Kicking it old school.

On another slightly related note. Can anyone (meaning Seul), confirm this as reliable:

Nope. Lose the first "yu" and you've got it… Gueuze is just the French way of spelling geuze, but you don't pronounce the first "u"...

Thought as much. Glad I checked. Thank you [emoji106][emoji4]

Local brewery, only 3 km down the road. They only started a couple of years ago and while I've tried supporting them their product isn't always up to scratch. This however is a very solid, tasty beer with lots of body. Promising stuff.

From Alvinne, I've only had the Omega, Phi and Sigma.  I liked the Omega most, but not enough to go out of my way to buy it again.
