I'm not sure if it's the same dude, but one of the reviews was nonsense. He said it couldn't grind dark oily beans, that is definitely not true. He may have had a defective unit but his description of the behavior of the grinder was way off base from my experiences.

    Think it, be it.

      Different dude.

My point/position; It's an espresso grinder. If you're doing filter coffee, a grinder made to grind for filter is going to be better.

Even the top ditting commercial grinders don't deal with filter particle size very well.

::) is probably about the only answer there :).

Did you ever watch the videos I did on how even the partical size was vs other hand grinders? Maybe you could have a look @ that and compare against your partical size distribution. Would be a pretty good way to see if it holds up to it and I'm full of it 🙂

I guess. I don't care that damn much but they're both conical burrs right?

              Speaking of elbow greased grinders…

Ceramic conical burr grinder designed to fit into an AeroPress. Local roasters Novo, one of their Yirgacheffe line.

So far I can't match the flour like grind of my barazta but for a mobile solution at work and on camping trips it's good enough. Wondering how she would handle coarser grinds.

I did enjoy the bright florality of the cup.

              Think it, be it.

i just bought a new grinder and been looking to get a tamper. any recommendations on where to get from? i mean i've seen alot of cheap ones and ridiculously expensive ones. i guess for now i'll go with something in between and fairly decent in price.

A strong recommendation coming from you Snowy! I'll have to try a pound.

@steelworker I nailed the grind/pour this afternoon and it is without doubt the best coffee I can recall drinking. Previously it was a 2013 panama esmeralda geisha (as a v60), and before that a chemex @ four barrel nov/12, before that a double ristretto, white horse blend, @ Mecca espresso back in 2006. I can distinctly remember the now 4 cups, and will likely remember them for life :).

@Snowy there's a few things that make living in St. Louis great, being able to drive 10 minutes to Sump and have the man himself make me a pour over ranks right near the top.
