IH-101J - 1946 101J Riders Jacket

here's mine.
to me this jacket is very different from a type 3 FH jacket i owned. the sleeves and cut was much fuller and i've found the sleeves length a little long for my linking. however the details are really nice, and i probably could see myself adjusting to it. mine's a size 36/S. perhaps i should've gone for the 34/XS, but the p2p was the same as the flathead i measured, so i stuck with these.

No problem. It's a nice jacket, heavy, soft, and no struggles with the buttons.

pretty tapering tho, very much like good old riders pretty tempting too, I am somewhere between ecto & mesomorph so not sure @Giles how about 40% father's day off

Here are the pre and post measurements of the sample 101J i've been wearing for a while….it's an XL.
It's just had it's first wash since the initial soak so i'll grab some more measurements and photos and add them soon.

It does taper but it doesn't bother me, despite my beer belly, as I rarely button it up.

The fit of this jacket is not for me (I have a lefty trucker), but the pics you guys have put up are great!!

Awesome jacket! Did try it on yesterday and found XL too tight and XXL too loose. But I envy you you can pull it off so well.

Yeh that's the TWSH-08; a real favourite and the ideal weight for this time of year in the UK. I think i've had the 101J for around 6 months….give or take. If I tried to do up the buttons the fit wouldn't look too good!

I love almost everything about it, but the deal breaker for me is lack of pockets. I actually ride a motorcycle, and as a "rider jacket" you need those hand pockets. Thats where you keep your phone and quick access stuff. The breast pockets are usually just for show, I never use those pockets. Just seems odd to me that anyone would want a denim jacket with only the 2 breast pockets. Before you say "well thats how this jacket style was originally" I know, and my point still stands.
