IH-634-UHR - Ultra Heavy - Straight Cut Jean

So, I've decided to wear my UHR for a bit before Spring comes on full and it'll be too hot until late Autumn/Winter.

And while similar to my Vulcans, I've never really experienced anything like this before.

The rigidness and uneven texture of the fabric is really interesting.

Is the uneven characteristic considered slub, or is it merely a feature of all loomstate denims? Namely this seems to be a feature of all denim that is uncalendered, and is unrelated to slub. I just want to make sure. I'm uncertain whether the uneven surface hand feel is caused by an unevenness or inconsistency in the yarn (which I understand to be "slub").

They became my Kindergarten pair in the last couple of months. They got some stains, so I washed em for the first time since I got em. Washed em inside out 40C and some of the stains are still there, but nothing hardcore.




They did not shrink that much in length, so they still need another hem job…

Being a recent purchase from; IH Forum » The Marketplace » Buying and Selling, I made the decision to give my, new to me, IH-634-UHR's a hot soak to be followed by a line dry. This being the first pair of jeans I've soaked in the bath of our new place, @Black Orchid's only comments were "I hope you don't stain the bloody bath tub" 

Phew…I didn't stain the bath tub. Hung the 634's out to air dry on the line.

Hey forum friends. I need some advice on this fit. It's pre-soak and I'm just unsure if it's how it should be or if I should go down one? They are tagged 33 which is usual in IH for me fwiw.
I've worked the numbers compared to my current pairs and these should be ok post soak. But I'd just like a second opinion before I start shrinking them down.

How tight (or otherwise) is the waist band?

They fit exactly around my waist. Not tight but not falling down. I think the waist will be perfect once they loose the inch.
It's the rest I'm unsure of….

They look a little large elsewhere, but it's virtually impossible  to judge what this denim will end up looking like when it has softened up…..I don't think you can size down because of the waist fitting well as is....
