Maybe you are thinking that I've given up with these…
Nope.
As written in my signature, I continue to wear them 4 x 7 and wash them every 15 days.  They fade, I want to believe, but slowly. No sign of evolution detectable by a normal camera, at least.
Now it's a personal matter between me and them.

(but i'm beginning to suspect that f*ckin' IH-817 are tougher than me.
A friend had not seen for a while said to me: "how beautyful your NEW jeans are!")

Just started mine too. Should have gotten 32 instead of 33. But since its work pants, its ok.

Fabric seems very dense but very comfy to use.

I'm so envious of you, I wish I could get my tree trunk thighs into a pair of 817's!

Just got a pair of these in a 36" waist. I love these pants but would prefer to have them more tapered in the legs. Has anybody had success with a tailor on Iron Heart jeans in this regard? I don't care if the original thread color can't be used but I'm wondering if the 3 needle seam is re- sewable.

Yes, they are.
But veeery sloooowly (an in a very special way),  even though I wear them 5/7 with absolute dedication.

I hope you're not disappointed, but these jeans really are a tough nut to crack. You cannot expect great contrast fadings, but only a slow solid, flat fading process.
I think I'm half way, my 817 are no longer new, but not yet broken in.
