You're probably right but still worth a shot.. I feel it will really enhance the "special" factor of the jacket". Hides and construction of this quality are certainly worth it even if at a slight premium IMO.

Might be possible to modify a dog tag and sew it in.  Not sure if that would be better, but it might be worth a try.

He says no.  If/when we get the dog tag machine fixed we could include a dog tag with the jacket.

Personally I like the idea of stencilling.  Stencilling is often used when you don't want to separate the object from its identifier….
