What, the 35 quid Panasonic Lumix from 2009?.. Hardly fancy, but I do like it a lot…  🙂

              @Seul:

The highly coveted Orval… At work I receive one case a week, and there are so many people who know when it arrives, that it's usually sold out in half an hour... On the other hand, for me it's easy to get some...

It's simply stellar beer... I'm usually not that fond of lighter beers, but this is a huge exception...

I was just at Whole Foods and they had this, so I picked up a bottle. Must be good if @Seul loves it. I'll probably try it later.

I really need to try out more Belgian beers, I just don't know where to start.
Any off the cuff recommendations would be appreciated, not sure what to look out for!
                Some recent drinks.

I thought the coffee on this was well done, but almost to a fault. It overtook the beer flavor and just tasted a bit like cold brew to me all in all.

Another good one from Founders, they always make great dark beers. This one looks intimidating but drank very smoothly.

Founder's is an amazing brewery @Broark On the Belgian front, the standard recommendations that are easy to come by are Chimay Blue and Rochefort 10

Bourbon: because living in Kentucky just makes you want to drink

The Black Rye is definitely an interesting/enjoyable beer.  It's actually one of the first beers they made, and they decided to put it back into production for the first time in quite a while this year…

Easily available here in Texas- the Chimay Blue and the Rochefort 10 (as mentioned above) are good picks, as is St. Bernardus Abt 12.  I'll probably catch some flack for it, but Hoegaarden is a solid white beer, if you like that style.  I love Cuvee des Jacobins, but it's a sour beer, which not everyone likes.  Petrus and Rodenbach also make good sour reds; I especially like the Grand Cru by Rodenbach.  The Orval that Seul posted isn't tough to find, and his recommendations are always worthwhile, even though he's a complete loser otherwise.

That covers a couple of different styles, so it should be enough to get you started…

And drink the Orval at 12-14C° btw…

I'm looking for a somewhat light(er), preferably blond beer for my brother's birthday barbeque and booze bash next month… Last year I started with a 10% beer, and everyone got drunk as fuck in about two hours time... So yeah: probably settling for a lighter saison type... Either the Dupont Saison (6.5%), or the Fantôme (8%). Thing is though, the saison Dupont is SO CHEAP here... It's like 1.3 € for a 37.5cls bottle... And seeing as how I'll be needing a LOT of them...

This is a good one, cheap (3€/ big bottle); but probably not to everyone's taste...

I got it due to me never trying a Dopplebock. I love bocks…and this is different for what I come to know as a shandy/lighter tasting beer company. Not bad, different taste, but not the best.

Told the woman this was her beer…haha.

Thanks for the Belgian recs, I've had the Chimay Blue and St. Bernardus Abt 12 before and enjoyed them.
I look forward to trying some more soon.

Currently finishing this off, very interesting beer.  I can't say it's my favorite from Jester King, but the smoked figs are a very interesting aspect. I think if they would've incorporated it into a different style of beer it would've been better but it's Jester King so they almost always work around the farmhouse ale style. Not bad by any means, and definitely one that got better as the bottle warmed up a little.
