Bought Batch 12 and 14… About 10 € for a 37.5 cl bottle... Nope: barrel aging a rather bland, unbalanced beer isn't resulting into anything special... Poured it in the sink...

        Recently enjoyed…

The to øl black malts and body salts was probaly my favourite… The abyss was incredible, and quite interesting, but just not as drinkable. I'd certainly have it again though if I came across another one.

Four winds is fast becoming my favourite of the new BC breweries.  I also recently had their new black saison at alibi room in Vancouver, and their saison Brett is also great. Exciting to finally have some high quality non ipa options coming out of BC

Did you try the Perennial? I live about 10 minutes from their brewery. They make a lot of great beers (as well as a few so-so beers). I haven't seen the Last Word anywhere though.

Indeed I did! I enjoyed it much. It's a brilliant premise,  they are modeling a beer after a Last Word cocktail (equal parts lime,  gin, maraschino, green chartreuse) which is one of my favorite sour cocktails. Definitely worth a try if you can find it. What are some of theirs that you've enjoyed? My first time trying one of their brews.

          Think it, be it.

Beautiful colour - amazing in the nose - excellent til you sip it… Almost no carbonation, unbalanced as hell; no thanks...

If you can get your hands on any of their Abraxas variants or their Sump Coffee stout (easier said than done, those are a challenge even living in St. Louis as I do), they are spectacular stouts. Also their La Bohème is a great wild ale aged with cherries.

I think I have a few of those in my basement. Unfortunately they belong to my brother and it's his absolute favorite beer of all time. Quite possibly mine as well. It would take something very, very special to pry one of those out of his hands.

Just moved to NYC from England so if anyone has any recommendations of beers to try that are local to the area, would be grateful!

Check out top hops in soho. They have a great selection of beers and it's in the same neighbourhood as self edge and blue in green.

I relalize that isn't exactly local, but they do stock a lot of founders out of Michigan, which is one of the best and most well rounded Brewers I've ever come across. My knowledge of ny state Brewers is limited.

I had that one awhile back. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The crunkle Sam barley wine is a winner as well

Can't stop drinking the heavier beers lately it seems like.
Soon the Texas summer heat will kick up and I'll be drinking sours left and right.
