Heading out to Jester King this morning, going to hopefully pick up bottles of their new releases.
Two collaborations, one with Evil Twin and one with Prairie.
Hopefully will pick up some glassware and other beers, pictures to come!

I'm very fortunate to live near one of the best breweries in the US (in my opinion), and I've actually got a Saturday off from work for a change so I'll get to make it out there.
Probably won't be able to resist having a pour of each as well.
Every time I go out there I try to limit myself and it never happens.

Toccalmatto/ Naparbier collab "ghost" quadrupel. Bit soapy, bit spicey, very accesible, good beer!..

So here's the line, I got there around 11:30. There were a few hundred behind me by the time I was getting my beers.  Probably the craziest release I've seen at Jester King.

And here's my haul, got both the special release beers (corresponding mug and glass too) and a couple other Jester King beers that I haven't had yet.

                Here's some info on Snörkel:http://jesterkingbrewery.com/introducing-jester-king-snoerkel

My local beer store just started stocking the full Thornbridge range, I can see that getting really expensive.

The Brewery itself is only about 20 miles from me, I must pay a visit one day.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

I just had the Jaipur a few weeks ago, really enjoyed the beer.
I feel like more small English and Belgian beers are showing up in Texas lately, I'm open to trying them!
Just not super familiar with them yet.

Tried almost every beer on this menu last night

Standouts included Crooked Stave Nightmare on Brett and Breakside La Tormenta. The former is among the finest examples of an American Sour I've had. It's aged in Leopold Brothers whiskey barrels. Not the only example of cross pollination between local distillers and brewers here,  but a great one. La Tormenta is hoppy and more reserved on the sourness, and would make a great session beer.

Ska Cru d'Etat was deplorable. Entirely too cloyingly sweet.

On the hoppy side the Stone Best By was great.

                          Think it, be it.

Bought Batch 12 and 14… About 10 € for a 37.5 cl bottle... Nope: barrel aging a rather bland, unbalanced beer isn't resulting into anything special... Poured it in the sink...

The to øl black malts and body salts was probaly my favourite… The abyss was incredible, and quite interesting, but just not as drinkable. I'd certainly have it again though if I came across another one.

Four winds is fast becoming my favourite of the new BC breweries.  I also recently had their new black saison at alibi room in Vancouver, and their saison Brett is also great. Exciting to finally have some high quality non ipa options coming out of BC

Indeed I did! I enjoyed it much. It's a brilliant premise,  they are modeling a beer after a Last Word cocktail (equal parts lime,  gin, maraschino, green chartreuse) which is one of my favorite sour cocktails. Definitely worth a try if you can find it. What are some of theirs that you've enjoyed? My first time trying one of their brews.

If you can get your hands on any of their Abraxas variants or their Sump Coffee stout (easier said than done, those are a challenge even living in St. Louis as I do), they are spectacular stouts. Also their La Bohème is a great wild ale aged with cherries.
