The craziest thing to me is that it was someone's fucking job to update this and they thought this was a great idea.
This is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. I'm more annoyed by the atrocious design than the fact that it makes reading anything a bitch.

Tapatalk seems to pull this kind of stunt pretty regularly. I turned off the auto update function over a year ago when I did this:
@Chris:Uninstall the craptacular new version, then go here to download the classic version. You'll have to change your default Android settings to allow non-Play Store programs to install, but the whole process only took about 5 minutes for me. Totally worth it.
Unfortunately, it seems they took down the file for the old version and a few minutes of Google-fu haven't turned up another source. It amazes me that they continue to make it worse and still remain in business.
EDIT: Looks like you can uninstall and go back a couple of versions if you go here:

I went to bed at 11.30 am yesterday. Had a dream someone 'd overbid me on an eBay auction (two bottles of beers I've bid on)…
Just made up my mind what beer to have in a bit, and currently placing an order at Beergium.com for more US beers.

Kind of funny how life works at times. A year ago when I started my first journey into IH I was married and thought happily so. Today, divorced and far more satisfied with myself. Even funnier is that I now seem to have more money to purchase this great gear with, despite having to pay out 100% of the bills. My wish list is growing with a pair of Wescos and an Aprilish due shirt topping it and no one to bitch at me for the expenses of it all. Hahahaha
