thats just taunting us poor brits who are riding in 4 degrees allthough with wind chill it feels like -15

This definitely is not the norm. It's usually a lot colder and with snow. I'll take it. Skiing can wait a few more weeks 🙂

Get a new MC asap.  Don't fuck around.  Life without a MC is a life diminished.  On the other hand - you can look forward to looking for a new MC  🙂 .

I'm about to relocate to Australia, so the next bike is probably going to be a few months away. I need to get out there and get sorted first.

Not sure what the next one will be. The new watercooled R1200R looks sweet, but the ergonomics didn't seem to quite work for me. I'd need to take another look to be sure.

The Aerial Ace is really cool…

                Sorry for the X-Post…

                Sorry for the cross post...

Haraki and I are feeling pretty pleased with ourselves.

We have been selected by Yamaha as the first ever non custom bike builder to be involved in their European "Yard Built" initiative.

                http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/sport-heritage/yard-built/index.aspx

We will be giving the Iron Heart "Yard Built" spin to an XJR1300:

                http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/products/motorcycles/sport-heritage/xjr1300.aspx

                We selected the bike today.

Feeling like a couple of kids let loose in a sweetshop, starts to describe what we feel like.....

We are allowed to keep the bike at the end of the project.  The only issue to be resolved is whether that is Haraki or me....

So cool.  Being able to keep the bike at the end of it is awesome.  Can't wait to see lots and lots of photos.

Would it be worth building a pair of IH x Yamaha bikes?

There'd be the additional cost of buying a second XJR1300,  but you could split the design costs over two machines, and I suspect that would account for a significant part of the budget.

If the bikes are going to have an afterlife as a promotional tool, then having one in Europe and one in Japan might make sense.

Of course I've got your best interests at heart! 😉

I'm actually not that bothered.  If H wants it in Japan, he can have it…......It's going to spend a year or so travelling throughout Europe before we get our mitts on it, so it will have done a good part of its job already.......

Actually, I'm looking forward to seeing the project as it unfolds. I do like the XJR, particularly the new Café Racer variant.

I was in Newcastle this afternoon, and took a look along Westgate Road. For those of you who don't know the city, it's got a cluster of motorcycle and gear shops.

Classic Motor Cycles had this very tasty cool Greeves scrambler. It was built for desert racing in the States, which is why both wheels are the same size. It's got a British logbook, and is road legal.

                                  It's £4500, if anyone's interested.

Great to find a motorbike thread! Keep finding new threads all the time!!
I started riding in 2004 at age 34, following passing the CBT and Direct Access courses.
Bike evolution to date; Honda Hornet, Yamaha R1, Suzuki GSXR 600, Yamaha R1, Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R which is my current bundle of fun.
                                      I am not averse to riding non sports bikes, so have attached this image of me on a Royal Enfield Classic 500, which was taken on my honeymoon in Goa India with Jules @Black Orchid in April 2013;

I will add some pics of the ninja once it stops pissing it down!! Here we go…..
