in context to Urbs post, a thing to consider, when people describe you 50% of a picture they have seen from their point of view, you will in the end have hardly a idea how the whole thing looks like… no easy calls were ever made... as Giles already said.
also the mods are not here to entertain you guys all the time, all of you have the power to start threads and work on ideas, have a look on the stuff Gav set up and that faded into.... since the people that where up for it, didn't feel like taking care after a few days / weeks....

I don't have much room to speak up on this topic since I fade in & out of the forum like a fart in the wind half the time. . .
but,
It does seem like everyone could loosen up a bit. We're a bunch of damn weirdos on an internet forum; sometimes you guys need to realize that and let your freak flags fly a bit more.
Also, people could stop bitching and moaning about bitching and moaning in half the threads on here and either throw a strong opinion out or laugh that shit off and move on.

I'm also not as frequent a poster as I'd wish to be, and have been on here for around 4 years, however one of the main reasons I stuck around was the straightforward, but considered, opinions that people were willing to share and discuss. I hadn't noticed the WAYWT compliment thing as a trend, but recognise that there has been very little constructive criticism.
I'd hazard a guess that there are others similar to me who've been content to take a backseat and that if we could participate more we would help revitalise the forum.

This is the only forum that I spend much time on at all (although not that much). And I generally like it for the congenial, non-combative vibe. If someone asks for an opinion in the WAYWT thread, then they usually get them. If not then they don't. Seems to work pretty well to me.

I agree with fuzz ^. One of the things I like about the forum is that it isn't usually a combative or otherwise toxic environment. I like to joke around a bit, but I usually shy away from forums cause everyone's so harsh to each other. Haven't been around long enough to add much to the discussion on now vs. then–but I still like what's happening here. But, I'm a girl, and besides that, a big softy--so I tend to keep it light IRL as well as online.

This is what causes most issues on this board, and the reason the forum's in this state, is cause of the backlash of all that… People tip-toeing around...

I have been on the forums since 2011 when I took the big dive into Japanese denim, etc. I've always seen this forum as G & P's house and that we are all visitors. I think that there is a responsibility to be good guests including poignant discussion, authenticity, and some semblance of good behavior. As with any message board, opinions are what make the world go around. However, I don't think that needs to be a brash amount of unnecessary critique or inflammatory posting to make this place anymore interesting. I very much enjoy my time on this forum even when I can only check the forums for a few minutes on break. I have learned a lot about clothing, fit, history, culture, and mostly how quickly a paycheck can be spent.
