I get my gin from different sources.
Personally, I quite like Master of Malt for the opportunity to order samples of new gin to try…

Looking at Urban Drinks' offer I can recommend:

      • Adler Gin from Berlin - clean, good, straight forward
      • Brockmans - smooth & floral
      • Citadelle Reserve 2013 - not available...
      • Ferdinand's Dry Saar Gin - another very nice German gin...
      • Gin Mare - more herbal than floral: rosemary & thyme, get 1724 tonic at the same time
      • Junipero Dry Gin
      • Monkey 47 - regular or distiller's cut
      • NB Gin - new Scottish distillery
      • Sipsmith
      • The Botanist - floral gin from Isle of Skye, Scotland

Regarding tonic water I can only say that I haven't tried them all, but I like:

      • 1724
      • Fentimans
      • Fever Tree
      • Gents
      • Thomas Henry

Indi & Co was quite sweet, but that made it work with Bainbridge Heritage Organic Doug Fir Gin.

I'm a beer guy 97/100 drinks but tonight was perfect for warming up with a nice dark rum. It's a strong Pennsylvanian rum flavored with cane sugar and Monsoon Malabar coffee. It is very bourbon like in taste and character.

Sounds great - will try to look that one up.

Had a sweet night too the other evening:

The apple whiskey liqueur is amazing.

                Sadly, I've discovered this:

This is the first whiskey I've enjoyed drinking neat. Normally I'll add a cube of ice to Bourbon or Scotch, but this Dalmore is so damn smooth.

All of them are extremely good - Sipsmith and Citadelle have special editions/cuts available to go further…

Botanist is made by Bruichladdich I think. Good stuff. Citadel too. Made a martini with it,  Elderflower liqueur in lieu of vermouth, and a twist for a lady friend who loves elderflower. Very nice.

                        Think it, be it.

+1 for Nikka scotch.  The stuff is pure gold.  Especially like the 17 year old.

I found a bottle of that Nikka 17 in Japan for about $50 USD. What a steal!

I'm happy just to find it here in the US.  Best price I've ever seen on it was $109 USD.

That is a great pick up for 40% discount.

Can't go wrong with Talisker a lovely drink and a good introduction to the peatier style Islay heavy hitters.

                                    Enjoy!

I'm no fan of peated beers (or whiskeys), but figured I'd force myself to learn and appreciate it through whiskey…

Seul, if you are struggling with the Talisker then I can always find it a good home!

Peaty whisky is not something that many people take an instant like to, from my experience it tends to be some what an acquired taste.

Never tried peated beer, didn't know it was available.  Could you suggest a peated beer, I would be keen to try something new.

I am lucky in so much that I have a pretty good varied selection of open whiskies at home to choose from.  I find my choice of dram varies with mood, occasion, time of day etc.  Loads of variables working away in the decision making process.

I particularly enjoy a peated whisky on a winters evening, sat at home with the log burner fired up.

                                        Happy days!

Completely understand what you mean with different drinks being for different occasions/ moodsets... Same with beer for me...

And yes: I know peated whiskeys are an acquired taste, and that's exàctly why I wanna get into 'm!.. Always open to new things, and if I don't like 'm at first, I'll keep at it, until I at least (think to) understand it...
