I would wash more, but I don't stink easily and my jeans stay pretty clean, and I find washing jeans to be a hassle.

I really enjoy the signature chatter that TFH denims have. It's very distinctive and beautiful.

      Think it, be it.

I thought he got them a month ago. . . So a wash every week is "normal" ??

        Okay I guess.

I did, been wearing them every day since! Also, here in California we don't have winter and I do a decent amount of walking. If I lived somewhere cooler I definitely wouldn't need to wash them as much…

Paging one @Cold Summer . Question when you get a moment. As recently returned from over in Japan, and knowing where you worked, can you shed any light around how often peoples over there washed their jeans? I seem to recall you've mentioned it before, but couldn't dig it up. Thanks.

MM, I'm sure CS mentioned it being weekly or fortnightly washes or something crazy frequent by our standards….

The people I worked with washed their jeans all the time - most of them once every 1-2 weeks. There were a few exceptions but generally the people I knew in the subculture didn't really get the whole washing infrequently thing. FH denim responds well to fairly frequent washing but most of the people I was around didn't have very interesting fades. IMO I wouldn't wash it more often than once every 1-1.5 months if I wanted decent honeycombs. The texture and color looks nice with frequent washing though.

^ So it depends what you're after: if it's high contrast fades and whiskers, wash less frequently. If you're more into yielding an overall fade to the fabric and bringing out more texture, you can wash more often.

I'm somewhere in between and like mcclain said above, I find washing and drying jeans to be a bit of a hassle (and a waste of water if they're in the machine on their own). Every one-two months works for my typical lifestyle and climate.

Exactly. I find myself more and more excited by the look of regular washed & well worn jeans over the super high contrast of non-washed pairs. My ideal fading lies in between those two points. And there are jeans, like FH and Eternal, that can take numerous washes better than other brands, that fade fast with every wash. I'm still leaning towards the FH 3009 as contest pair in the DWC. Might try the "every-two-weeks" approach then.

Personally I find most jeans fugly. Imo jeans should be in the background of an outfit, not the very first thing you notice. And like max said, flat heads hold their indigo crazy well… So they really take to frequent washes.
Max, the 3005 is a more comfy cut, maybe more suited to every day wear.... And it doesn't really look that different if you cuff so there's no break

A weekly wash for a pair of new jeans seems a bit much. Sort of like the guy with a new pair of Whites or Vibergs putting snow seal on a brand new boot they will only wear to the Westminster toy dog shows.

In any event I'll enjoy watching the evolution & journey if these jeans stay with G M B for a bit.

It's getting a little tiring going over this ad nauseum, but keep in mind that the first 2 washes happened right away to make sure all shrinkage was out.

And I'm done selling jeans, since I've figured out what works for me
