Thanks Giles.
How about making the pocket bags in leather? Denham did an unlined jacket that did this.
When I was (OK, still am) thinking about a J100, I'd have lost the chest pockets (and I know it's a part of the style), and gone for a pair of inner pockets. I'd have based these on the M421's design, and have them held in place on the armpit seam.

Deerskin would make a great pocket material

@mclaincausey
I think anything else then the usual cotton / canvas materials would make the pockets bulge in a slim fiting jacket like the J-100.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Now that's a leather jacket.
Right up my alley and I love the zips on the arms.

Kinda like it…
-
Nice. What model is it, Jo?
The "normal" Alexander Cafe Racer? -
Thanks guys!
To be honest, MaxP tried em on, I just wanted to put em back on the hanger, but I could not resist. Now I want a leather jacket, maybe 0.5 inches longer in the front and without a half belt. The Giles King is lovely…
Damn! -
^You cant go wrong with the GK. I love my brown but the black looks amazing

I took a look at the McLain today, and it's a very nice jacket. I just need one that's up a couple of sizes from Giles's, with the right tartan as the liner, and a cold climate to wear it in.
Unfortunately the J100 is back in Scotland, as it sounds like it was fitted for Quasimodo. Looking forward to seeing the red one, though…
-
@mclaincausey 's McLain was being cut yesterday. I OK'd brown shearling for the pockets, hope that is OK…
-
Yep that sounds pretty bitchin actually
-
@mclaincausey a McLain is leaving Scotland for me later today…..I'll have it tomorrow, though sometimes the Alexander shipments get to me after MrUPSMan has picked up....
