It does require the phone to be powered back on, which will likely happen at some point if someone's found it. Best you can do using that is set an alert on it for when it does turn on.

Apple announcement was completely as expected, the watch looks looks like the best of the bunch of current "smart" watches, but I still find the whole concept superfluous. Most exciting things for me were…
iPhone 6 looks harder to accidentally smash.
New iOS looks like it could be a massive improvement.
The new tech stuff (battery, camera, speed, wallet) all look cool but not earth shattering. All in all, a nice update to the iPhone line and will undoubtedly sell millions, but the smart phone market is reaching saturation point and you really have to do something incredible to grab attention.
-
I like the watch and iPhone looks solid. I'm hoping Apple stays competitive.

And here (in German) the related comment of the Morning-briefing of Germany´s leading business-daily (sounds not so good):
Die Apple-Welt kreißte und gebar heute Nacht eine Uhr. Die iWatch sendet Nachrichten und empfängt Fitnessdaten. Die Börse, die das Produkt dringender braucht als Otto-Normal-Nutzer, reagierte kurzfristig euphorisch und dann lustlos. Der Grund: Apple präsentierte eine Neuheit, aber keine Erfindung. Die Uhr ist schick, aber nicht genial. -
I like the watch
-
Agreed, though I still don't understand why NFC is the model. Retailers already have optical scanners, I've long thought why not just use that technology?
-
yeah. the watch is not what i expected. i doubt it'll ever settle. like why would someone wanna be wearing that to a fully mechanical watch say a seiko, pam, rolex etc….
really doubting the NFC in other parts of the world though, i mean like they mentioned it's the end of the magnetic strip but cards this days come with EMV chips and in certain countries, instead of signing you pay with pin. which is essentially almost the same thing as apple pay where the card doesnt ever leave your hand. on top of that, the different rules in different countries in regard to card payments.
-
just wondering. for those getting the iphone6. would you be getting the 6 or 6plus???
-
Even though they boosted the base resolution and screen size, I'd go plus, the added battery life alone makes it worthwhile IMO.
-
yeah i have been looking at the 6plus more than the 6. with all the advancement, the only downside is it's size. wouldnt know if i would get used to a phone being that huge (physically) not the screen size.
