You have a really weird washing machine. It lacks a knob with programs on it, but I guess in this case the knob's kneeling in front of it.

And the results of my white knuckle ride of denim dirt removal look a little like this…

              First a line dry...

After 4 or 5 hours on the line I commit another ultimate denim sin by throwing them in the tumble dryer ( I can hear the collective shock of a hundred denim heads passing out here).

And this is the result….(bad lighting)

So that is how I clean my MBB's, just like normal folks clean their jeans, no magic here people. From here on in this will be happening at the end of every month.

I just like to hang onto it as it was a piece of denim which I attempted hemming on at the Chain Stitch Massacre last year.

Ah, that makes more sense. I keep mine in my closet as it's nice to see what the denim looked like when new.

How long do you think the patch will last with hot washes and tumble drying?  The aversion to turning the leather into a blackened chip is the only thing that keeps me from tossing my pair in the dryer.

All of my ironhearts have been tumble dried many times, and the only ones that show the least bit of cracklin' on the patch are my 634s.  The others have a changed shape a bit, but I think that's more from my belt than the dryer.

Ok, Originally I wanted to wash them every 2 months at the minimum. However, that's not always how things work out and since Feb I've been following the wash schedule of wash when dirty.
                                        Here we go.
As these are my daily jeans I rarely remove the stuff from my pockets, since it's wash day, out they come.

Ready to turn inside out front pre wash

and back…it's very dark in my laundry room so apologies for the darkness..

                                        remove cuff bunnies

                                        finally inside out

the old wash notes, this isn't something that I would normally do, but since it was a competition, I figured it may be useful info

small repair I had to do on the inside of my left leg

I like to give them a pre-soak. Only because sometimes due to the weight of them and my water friendly machine, they don't get wet in certain areas.

                                        aaaand in.

bit of detergent, again, nothing fancy at all.

                                        the settings

                                        No spin cycle option 🙂

again, because of the water conserving machine, I set my timer to go back and flip them.

                                        back in

                                        done

and outside to drip dry in the sun

                                        Ok,
That was very long and way too many pics, I've missed a few challenges so hopefully this makes up for that… 🙂

                                        Updates when dry!
