@Snowy won't you spontaneously combust if you wear them in Australia?

I'm finding them a bit warm to wear in what passes for summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, and Sydney is quite a bit hotter.

        @Graeme. I don't own shorts. Haven't for years :).

          That's good to know.

I'm thinking of a move to Oz later this year, and am glad to hear I won't have to give up my entire wardrobe.

feel free to drop me a PM if it starts getting more serious for you, the thinking, that is. Can't promise to be able to resolve the thinking, but maybe able to eventually help with the topic of thought. (BTW I am seen as a little strange wearing denim all year round. It does get up to around 35c most years for at least a few days - I just prefer it these years)

Thanks. I'm in the process of replacing various bits and pieces due to slimming down, and Chambray is featuring prominently in readiness. 🙂

It's almost never too hot to wear a pair of Iron Hearts.  But I never wear two at a time – that would be overkill  😉

Mine arrived last week. Followed the instructions regarding the soak and wash. Did it a second time with slightly hotter water in the hope of shrinking the hips a bit more. Waist is spot on and while the hip block (?) is still fuller than I'd like, they do look less jodper-esque.

Only thing I have noticed is a slight left leg twist. The outer seam, at the bottom seam, is rotated maybe a half to an three quarters of inch forward. Or clock-wise if you're looking straight down. And while no one else would ever notice… It's akin to hanging wallpaper and making a slight mismatch in the pattern where it lines up the next sheet.  You know it's there, but... Lol.

That leg twist used to drive me nuts, but now I miss it if I don't see it. My 301 have it bad!

Leg twist comes along with the territory, especially with raw denim.  As soon as these things hit water, the fabric shrinks and warps.  I personally love it–means my jeans have character.

Leg twist used to bother me but now that I've been indoctrinated in the ways of raw denim 😉 it's fine and to be expected.

Regarding hip flare, I notice this too – as well as on my 633s IH/Self Edge collaboration pair, but not on the 634s.  I've heard that the tendency for the hips to flare out to the side (not the most flattering look) settles down with time.  I'm hoping this is true but also aware that the extra room is one of the reasons why the 1955-UHR is so comfortable -- trim at the waist with lots of room in the top block.

Enjoy those '55's -- leg twist and hip flare and all 😉

I slipped crossing a road this morning, and my knee took the brunt of the fall.

I've put holes in lesser denim through such stunts, but the UHRs escaped unscathed with nothing more than a couple of interesting patches of evo.

When I'm ready for another pair of denim, this will probably be it. (unless the indigo warp/weft model blows me away)

These are fading really fast in comparison the the 18oz raw and the 21oz flagship. Really surprised by how they're coming along, and not the least bit upset with the purchase. It's starting to get a bit too warm to wear them frequently unfortunately. I'm getting them ready to be put away for the 6 month rest. Will be sure to get some shots before that takes place.

After their second wash, they're a perfect fit/size for me. All pockets are fantastic, the cut itself a delight. All the right space in all the right places.

@Snowy Has it been too hot to wear these? How are they going? Any evo pics, yet?

I have been wearing my XHSs so haven't really given my UHRs much attention

However, the oiliiness of this denim not only feels silky but suggests to me a lovely dirty-looking fade in time, possibly akin to LVC 501 1937 South West soil finish of 10 to 12 years ago, without the blotchiness.

Battled with my 25 oz, won the war!

@Jeansman Yeah, it has been too hot to wear these too much. I'll dig them out next weekend (not the current one) and if there's anything there will post up. Think it's going to take another fall/winter for them to come to light.

@Snowy  I've worn mine a few times, probably about 2 weeks in total. Mine are tight in the waistband but have room for movement elsewhere, without being baggy. I'm hoping to get a new phone with a 13 megapixel camera soon so may be able to post better pics than my previous efforts. I tried out my 666 UHR last night - they are a fantastic fit, better than XHS 666s and the fly seems to be lower than on those, too.

I think mine stretched out to about 35" in the waist with wear. They're a size 33, so the waist started at 34".
