Columbia looks amazing. More ball finesse than any other team. South American teams make it look so easy. USA looks like they all have sausage feet. No finesse! Just clearing the ball out everytime and no well placed passing, at least compare to other teams. We suck at soccer

Watching Japan v. Greece just now put me in mind of our beloved Japanese denim: art- and playful, in possession of the ball for 70% of the time, if not more. Only of course the scoring was missing, alas, against the very robust Greeks. Don't see either team going very far, and thus the denim metaphor ends, very abruptly.

And that in a "death group" with three former world champions, they are the ones to qualify first.  England's "clutching at straws" was bound to fail, far too long odds. The tournament promises to go not as expected, and that's always good, I find.
