When I first glanced at your post, I thought it said "buttholes".  Really glad I was wrong about that…

        @TJ:

Any recommendations?  I'm going to fix them up myself because I'm stubborn like that, but wondering if there might be any tricks of which I am ignorant.

By the way, only damage from a 65-70 mph motorcycle wreck.  IH is the shit.

        65-70!?!! Hope you’re alright.  :o

Good to see the jeans held up that well. Impressive, I've had jeans (not IH) get trashed at about 5mph crash… makes me feel safer that I'm wearing iron hearts now!

Got a laundry list of repairs I've been needing to do that I finely decided to start knocking out…

Up first, some anonymousisms I tore a hole in on an errant nail that was sticking out of the floor...

          and the fix…

          from the outside…

They're darn comfy now if you ask me…

          Up next, it's my XHS…

You talking our floor?  I now keep a hammer in the kitchen…...

                Busted inseam on my XHS…

First I rejoined the two pieces of denim together with a blanket stitch, and then used a back stitch to secure the inseam back down.

                Here is the inside…

                and the outside…

and as happens in all my pants, the dreaded crotch blow out…

hand darned it right back up.  From the inside…

                and the outside…

My first attempt at the button hole stitch on my 666-XHS. The top work was a bit messy, but I got the hang of it through the curve and bottom part.

Can anyone recommend a DIY method for preventative maintenance / crotch seam reinforcement?

The crotch seam on my 634s is starting to wear away and I'd like to take care of it before it becomes a larger problem. I don't care how rough it looks, it just needs to hold up.

                        Thanks all.

OK, so I wasn't sure where to post this since it seemed kinda off topic. Since it's this pair of jeans this is logically a relevant place to ask.

So it seems that a little bit of the inseam overlock stitch is coming loose, on the left leg, on some localized spots. So it's not a big deal but I've actually never had this happen before, but anyway, maybe it is and you guys can correct me in that case.

I send these same pics to a shop kinda close asking for their opinion, and they said (without actually having the denim in person, mind) they will need to take apart the hem, take apart the inseam and use a darning machine?

Excuse my ignorance but it would appear from some research that a simple overlock stitching machine should be able to get the job done…

I was also going to have these guys hem my two other pairs of jeans but I'm pretty paranoid after a previous alteration went south and I'm automatically suspicious after they wanted to take the whole bottom apart.
