Self Edge x Imperial = SEXI23
With this new collaboration we've gotten together with Imperial, a brand we've been carrying since the day we opened, to create a slim tapered jean in a super low tension denim. This fabric has been made very slowly by a tiny mill run by only a few employees in Kojima (Okayama, Japan). The weaving speed of the loom was set to a very low speed; at this speed the loom was able to create approximately 23 yards of denim in a work day, enough for about a dozen jeans. This extremely slow speed yields a denim that is a bit abrasive at first and very breathable despite it's 16oz weight.
The indigo yarns were dipped ten times in a method which yields a deep indigo color on the warp threads yet the core has stayed bright white. This combined with the feel of the denim and the fit of the jean means that over time this will be a denim that yields a defined and high contrast fade with regular wear.The SEXI23 jean has a medium rise and slim upper block that continues down to a slim tapered fit throughout the body of the jean. We wanted a jean that could be worn slim with a hefty denim that breathes for the warmer months.
The Imperial SEXI23 jean will go on sale at noon (local time) Saturday, June 7th at all four Self Edge stores. The jean will also go on sale in our online store at 9am (PST) the same day.

Just finished the soak snd drying of these sexi23… Very pleased. Have been looking fora cut like this for quite sometime and the search is over. The denim is hand down one of my favorites in term of texture and appearance. In anxious to see the progress.

Thanks guys. It's an unbelievably fantastic cut and the denim is absolutely breathtaking… In my top 3 based off initial appearance. Can't wait to see the fading properties. Highly recommended, am actually considering purchasing a second for later on down the road...

We're proud to announce that we've launched an entirely new website. Our old site served us well over the last eight years but was long overdue for an upgrade. With our new site we've added quite a bit of functionality. We've also built a mobile version of the site that will automatically load the appropriate version depending on your mobile device. One feature we're especially proud of is something we've yet to see in any other online store, our Jean Finder. With this feature you input the measurements of your favorite pair of jeans and our site will show which jean model is closest in overall fit to the jean you currently own out of the 90 different models of jeans in our online store. Our new site was designed by Mark Montgomery, who has been our Art Director for the past four years. Mark's attention to detail shows through our new site, with every aspect of the shopping experience taken into account with more efficient browsing, clearer size charts, higher-res photographs, and an overall better experience.
Along with our new site we've finished the Darn-It! video which highlights our jean repair and hemming services which are available at all four of our stores. This video was directed by our video director, Kellen Dengler, and includes an original J-Zone track produced exclusively for our video.
