      @Chris:

What did you think of that one?

As I told my mate: "There's no way you can have a Rodenbach Grand Cru after this"… It's like a GC with more character and a bigger set of balls...

      Also:

See that full crate on the right?.. Struise beers ONLY… XXXX, XXX, Pannepot and BBA Tsjeeses...

What's the lifespan of a haul like that for you Eli? Like choices in that quantity would likely run me a few hundred, so I'm a bit curious on the comparative. Granted, I'm only guessing based on what I can see.

First things first: I'm also a bit of a wine enthousiast… The Pirca carmenère is considered to be one of the best carmenères in the world... But the local shop distributing it, has stopped doing so... Gutted... Co-incidentally, I went into a small, rather marginal shop around the corner of Geers, perused the wine section, and HUZZAH!.. Not only did they have the carmenère, they had the 2009 one!!!!!!!! I've only had 2010, so I can not tell you how stoked I am... That and two bottles of Ozzie white that gets a massively good score in a highly acclaimed Belgian magazine...

And my brother picked up some wine in Geers (yeah: he's the guy looking at the wine section in a shop such as Geers  ;D)… I'm sure it'll be shit though... He rarely has luck choosing good wine... He got two bottles of Cuvée van de Keizer though, not a bad beer  🙂

              Ok, onwards!..

4 bottles of Girardin Black Label (the cheapest geuze there is)

4 bottles of Cuvée de Ranke, to this date the biggest revelation beerwise of 2014:

              8xBoskeun:

              4xDelirium Christmas:

6 of each. The quadruple got me fistpumping in the store… Finally in small bottles!.. Had JUST arrived at the store...

              Single bottles:

And to make room for that haul the Bald Belgian sent a little love to the Bald Brit.

Cheers Eli, I'll be toasting your health this evening dude.

Not much of a wine guy, unless a random situation necessitates so. Otherwise the closest I get is a barley wine, or occasional mead. That said the Yellow Tail is available pretty much everywhere around here, so I at least recognize it 😉

The brews look good, making me thirsty.

Decided to stick with the pinup theme. This is getting really close to IPA territory with the citrus hops though…

If this beer had a more balanced nose, it would be my favourite Struise beer… Despite it, though, it's ridiculously good and smooth and unbelievably dangerous cause it's 12%...
