I beat the hell out of mine for about 10 months before I couldn't wear them anymore because my legs got too thick from working out. They are a more slim cut of the 634S which are already a slim cut for me

I'll post up pics of mine when I get a bit more sunlight though my living room windows

Giles is right, the patch turned a lot of people off (not sure why, the patch is pretty subdued), but if you do away with the leather patch on the outside, I would recommend putting a patch of denim on the inside of the pocket with the same profile.

I'm toying with the idea of getting another pair sized up to accommodate my legs, and I wouldn't have to worry about a loose waistband because I would be tucking a weapon in my waistband

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

Never was a fan of the leather triangle, too. But then, I also don't carry around knives, brass knuckles and firearms. Must be doing sth. wrong.

I just ordered my second pair.  I don't have a problem with the leather triangle. And yes they are slimmer and seem to have a slightly lower rise. I sized up this time. I'll let y'all know what I think.
Might be forselling my size 31x 31. They fit me but tight.
Effe loosing weight. I'll buy the next size up. Ha

I'm thinking of re-running these without the leather knife protector on the front pocket.  Basically the Vulcan V2, would you guys prefer that?  Basically it would be a 18oz version of the 634S….

The patch doesn't do anything for me. Love the 18oz - love the fit.  Don't understand why they don't sell better.

IMO.  The 634S cut in 18oz unsanforised should sell like crack…...But the Vulcan does not (and I have 200 patches to use)....

With the new 18oz denim? I thought about something like that some days ago…

I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of the everyday routine, the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition that our sacred relationship with our beloved Iron Heart jawns brings to us. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of solidarity I thought we could mark this day by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
There are, of course, those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now orders are being shouted into telephones and men with Dockers and pleated dress slacks will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the polyester blends may be used in lieu of all that is holy and pure (namely cotton), denim and indigo will always retain their power. Denim offers individuality, freedom, expression, and for those of us who fully understand its greatness, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this world, isn't there?
Cruelty and injustice…intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to dress as you saw fit, you now have dress codes and fashion police, coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told...if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War. Terror. Unemployment. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to an office job and a human resources manager. He promised you a paycheck with which you could acquire a pair of Iron Heart Vulcans which you could wear in the evenings and on weekends. He may have even promised you an occasional "Casual Friday" to wear your denim to work. And all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.
Today, we must seek to end that silence and remind this world of what it has forgotten. More than one hundred and forty years ago, a great citizen wished to provide hardworking men with pants to equal their passion and strength. His hope was to remind the world that quality, durability and individuality are more than words - they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of The Man remain unknown to you, then I would suggest that you allow this day to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek...then I ask you to never stop the fight! This intolerance against denim must not be tolerated! Rise up and stand together in the face of injustice! When your grandchildren ask you what you did to save the almighty blue jean, what will you say? That you kneeled in your chinos, or that you stood tall in your denim?

I've read that in certain types of business, a relaxed dress code has led to lower productivity and more employee problems (infractions for "too casual", complaints of unprofessional behavior, interpersonal disputes, etc.).  As a result, some companies have chosen to remove the issues by removing the casual dress code.

When I worked in an office environment, I hated the Casual Friday concept; I essentially needed to create another wardrobe: business dress for Monday-Thursday, business casual for Friday, and my normal jean & t-shirts for after hours and weekends.  I made the decision to simply wear business dress on Fridays as well, because it saved me money and hassle.

I think rigorous dress codes in most professional settings are antiquated and counterproductive. You ain't my daddy, it's not your place to tell me how to dress. It creates tension that's simply not necessary between employee and employer and makes employees think they are being esteemed on appearance instead of performance. Let your employees be themselves, and if you hire the right employees, this will pay for itself, guaranteed. There are certain customer-facing situations where a higher dress code is necessary, but otherwise it's not.

We have people with tattoos, dyed hair, and piercings who wear jeans, boots, and wallet chains, and we have people in khakis and cardigans, and we have people who wear sports coats and loafers without fail. Our GM wears golf shirts and jeans, and the only time I've seen our CEO not wearing a hoodie and jeans or shorts is when he has to suit up. I assure you our creative output and productivity are just fine, thank you very much, and morale is great too.

                                            Think it, be it.
