Can anyone tell me if the s003jp is similar to the 666 cut? I was going to hold out for the 666UHR but having just found out the presoak inseam will be 37 there's no way that's gonna come close to working for me and I really need one more pair of jeans to be able to rotate. Thanks in advance. Any recommendations also appreciate , was also looking at whall's but they aren't raw
if it helps I need at least a 37" inseam post soak. Seems like samurai is about the only choice anymore -
Ande Whall's jeans not being raw? I guess you mean they are not unsanforized. Although that depends on which fabric or special roll he uses.
To choose between WH and Samurai is tough. I think the S003JP will be the slimmer fit but I like the simple details of the WH better. And also the fading patterns of the WH denim is more to my liking than Samurai's Yamato denim line

Hmm… You may have sold me on the wharehouse's BF.
G, I realize the xhs has a 37" inseam but after having had several pairs I'm just not really looking to pursue anymore denim that heavy. IMO it's not nearly as practical as denim in the range of 18 oz, and more importantly to me... The drape in the body just isn't natural. It is what it is. Just have to come to terms with the options I do have and go from there.

Went with Sam s003jp… BUT Danny from R&H is going to japan next month and said he is going to inquire about starting to have longer inseam options made. Hope this works out

wearing my damp s003jp right now. really glad I picked em up. Samurai never has let me down and this is no different. In fact, the details on the 003 is my favorite sam of all my pairs. I really dig the patch on the 15th anniversary one I got (since this is my first pair of s003 im not sure but it may be the patch on all of them, never paid enough attention) and the inseam is LLLLLOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGGG

Here's the s003jp a few days in. Really like the fit, anxious for whiskers to set.. Always hate the way SAMs look in the top block before it settles but… These are ggrrrrrreeeatt! -
They look great on you Tat, and I know what you mean about the block. My 301s block has like no whiskers at all and looks wierd with the great leg creases.

picked up a pair of black hawks from gordon this weekend. Came today and are drying right now. I am really excited for these!

^what size did you get and how do you like them? I was hesitating too long, now all 34s are gone.
Tried out the new lense on my 710XX. It's hard to get the images right, as the conversion of the lense/camera gives it a pretty close zoom, so I have to move away from the objects.

An old, used Minolta macro lense that fits my Sony DSLR. Would have to look up Details, I'm not a photo nerd (as Jordan23 pointed out)

I'm really quite pleased with these. Are the red hawks still available in your side? Didn't know if you had considered those or not. Personally I don't like the contrast stitching on black denim but if you don't mind it, they could be an alternative. -

Also, with respect to the 19 oz denim…
I ended up putting my s003jp up for sale and purchased a s710xx-15th. I went ahead and did a hot soak using the washing machine to get most shrinkage out. You think one go is enough or would you run it twice just to make sure it's all outta there? -
The 19 oz doesn't shrink much. The inseam gets max. 2-2,5" shrinkage, I got this after two soaks. One machine wash should do all this. Thanks for the reply, the red hawks are not my kind of style for exactly the reasons you named.

Thanks for the reply on the soaking. I thought I recalled 19 oz denim didn't shrink much, but just always like to try to get it all out so everything can set exactly where it will be and no surprises down the road. Really like the fit of 710 cut now that I've put on a little weight. Wasn't thrilled with it at a size 30 for my height. Looked weird but has changed to my news favorite.
