Has the Goruck bubble burst? I've been reading some not very complimentary things about them on EDC  :-\

Most likely because their customer service SUCKS!!! They do make great rucks though.

Good product is nothing without (at the very least) decent customer service.  Indeed, I would go further than that, imo a restaurant with average food but outstanding service is better than a Michelin starred restaurant with average service.

Couldn't agree more. It goes to the core of human nature beyond the practical aspects of good service.  People like to buy from people whom they like.

Their service isn't as bad as that of Mystery Ranch, which absolutely sucks balls if your trying to buy their packs in the uk!

Which is more than can be said for my IH IHE-01 which has a hole forming after 20 wears. Wish Goruck would make a Messenger. Any suggestions for a bomb proof, sweet looking (no man purses please!) messenger welcome

They did make a laptop bag (not quite a messenger but perhaps worth a look). Tad gear also made a messenger esque bag.

I have the goruck aviator kit bag and one of their cheaper rucks, both of which are glorious bits of kit!

You should check out the Bedouin Foundry Genghis messenger. Hand made in England, rhino wax fabric, English leather, mil spec hardware and a lifetime guarantee. Fabric will evolve over time. I have one and it's beautiful

The following are also good options:
Bagjack next level messenger (they make the bags for acronym).
Trakke bags (they do a nice one with Harris tweed in it).
The modern industry faraday tote pack - converts from tote to messenger. Limited numbers though

Thanks Cutlass and Lucifer. The Bagjack and Bedouin bags are so nice. Bit pricey for me right now. Spending WAY too much recently :o Any slightly more affordable gear worth checking out? Looking for something weatherproof.

I almost bought one of them when I got a new messenger…

But, to build off what was said in the last page, I bought another Timbuk2 bag because I have had nothing but amazing customer service from them.

The Mission Workshop bag was better though.

Decided against the "ada blackjack" (#295) because it has no extra pocket for small items. Found a nearly new Seil Marschall LW Climbers Pack on ebay instead for a good price. Good choice if you´re looking for something "over-engineered". Nothing that hasn´t been shown in Rocket´s post (thank you for introducing that brand) but anyway, some pics of the navy Seil Marschall:
