love that guy as he's just an honest artist with a working backbone. sometimes dudes bump heads & have strong convictions. i don't always support the MODs in public or privately but i think i have a softer touch to approach certain things which make it easier to take in my opinion. adam doesn't have a soft touch . . . so that coupled with one of our stronger personality MODs & it's a disaster waiting to happen.
in any event, adam's a good dude & is missed for his stance (literal & figuratively) & i wanted to buy some of his pottery/art work. bastard bounced before i could get my order in.

& i think it was more about adam's contact with the MOD that got him bounced, it just happened to begin with the conversation you two were having . . .

on it too.I agree with your assessment. I will also admit I got miffed at the guy during the conversation, but I always liked him (That is probably why I got miffed) and was not at all happy, even being frustrated with him at the time, when all this happened. I chuckled at his Lebowski reference, I thought everything was defused at that point.

Adam left of his own volition. He was given a temporary time out, he didn't think it was appropriate, and so he asked Giles to delete his account.

It's also hard to hold a rational debate on a forum. Written word is perceived differently than conversation. Had this all gone down face to face, everyone would be having a beer by now.

Adam was given a one week ban for violating a forum rule. He was an old-timer so full well knew the rules. The decision to give him the ban was a decision jointly made by the forum mods online at the time. Adam then rejoined under a different user name and was more than a little personal.
He asked me to delete both accounts. I took the decision to delete the troll account but to leave his primary account with the one week ban. I was hoping that in the cold light of day, the red mist may have lifted a little. And like most of the people above, I enjoyed his posts, loved his photo's and thought he was a great guy to have around.
After the weeks ban was up, he came back into the forum and started modifying posts, thus changing the perception of what had actually happened. At this point the mods made the decision to grant his wish and ban him. When a member becomes spiteful and vengeful, for whatever reason, it is best that they are shown the door.

not sure if this has been said yet….but postimage...sucks.
any way to just use imgur? or some other embedding where clicking on the image leads to a bigger picture of the image?

postimage (which fucking sucks) actually supports sane click-bigger image behavior. The issue is that the URL to do so goes to the root of the postimage domain instead of to the image itself. I manually make the edit to the URL when I use the browser based image upload and it works.
