Yep.  After 18 months with the C63 I started looking around.  With a bit of negotiation I got the E63 for the same rental as the C63.  And the on the road price of the E is USD32,000 more than the C, it just shows how desperate the car companies are to shift stock…..

Oh, and Paula and seriously considered moving to Singapore because we would be better off money-wise than we are in UK….Even with booze, cigs, cars etc etc costing far more than in Europe....

not to mention houses as well G. houses and cars. those are the things that can get you. only good thing is the low income taxes. but i always have the feeling that they f**ks us in other ways. btw, any picture of your e63?

correct me if i'm wrong though. basically you're paying a certain amount a month to rent this cars on a 2 year basis. and you're getting the e63 rental price for the price of renting a c63? so technically

3+23= 3 months of fees in the first month and normal on the 23 remaining months??
any links to have a look at one of those companies G?

You have to shop around and negotiate but here are some examples.  I pay GBP520 per month for a 3+23:

And in my case it is a business expense so you can halve that as an actual outlay…..

Finn, like G said, it's a business expense every year. Unless you are able to write your car off as an expense, I would recommend not leasing a vehicle.

Personally I like to buy pre owned cars that some other idiot already bought new, and then realized he couldn't afford. We bought our a3 with 19,000 miles and saved 8,000 dollars. The guy drove it for 10 months and had to trade it in for a Subaru because he couldn't afford it.  No brainer in my book.

yeah G, that amg sound is just awesome. careful not to wake the neighbors 😛 but interesting stuff about the leasing. new to that kinda stuff.

and yeah definitely those pre-own cars are good. you usually get a few good ones at few thousand milage and brand new for much less than an outright new ones.

I've always admired the AMGs. They retain their class, and are rather unassuming, until they blow past you when the light turns green. You hear them roar and are like, "Oh, that was an AMG."

My family has always been loyal to the three pointed star, but my dad recently bought a Lexus. I am too old to care about how he spends his money, but I still couldn't help but feel like he made a mistake.

It is ridiculous.  Over the 2 years I have it, I will pay GBP13,520 in rentals.  It is a GBP76,000 car on the road.  After 2 years it will struggle to fetch GBP35,000 on the second hand market.  So 35K plus 13K = 48K, where's the other 28K gone?  Mercedes Benz must be making a profit on this deal, so it just goes to show what their real margins are….
