Hard Drinkers, Lets Drink Hard (Spirits, Liquors and Cocktails)

My pleasure. If I had to pick one it would be the one on the bottom right, though the New Orleans one is a sentimental favorite. PDT is pretty but no drink pictures. It does have a lot of knowledge beyond drinks though, etiquette and how to run a home or commercial bar.

Funny that you mention Jim Meehan's PDT book - I work with with the German version a little bit - even got a drink from my favourite bar at home (Victoria Bar, Berlin).
Certainly not a beginners book with easy cocktails. Leans heavily towards the bourbon side of whisk(e)y, but that comes with the terrain.
Interesting cocktails with a lot of attention to very good ingredients! Here in Moscow I like to experiment with the bar woman at my local bar: I bring a bottle of whatever appears to be interesting or new (gin, whisky, absinthe, amaro, vermouth, bitter) and we work out new versions and combinations - not everything works…

Uhhhhhhhh…..
North Shore Distillery is in the house.

Mclain - I thought of you the other day when I tried this. http://greenhatgin.com Best gin I've EVER had.

Last night I had one of the finest gin cocktails I've ever had: North Shore #6 gin, Lemon, Earl Grey infused simple Syrup, Egg White, Orange Bitters, shaken and strained into a coupe glass with a garnish of a lemon rind. I had wanted to get this drink called the Juliet & Romeo (Plymouth gin, Lime, Mint, Cucumber, Rose Water, shaken, strained into coupe) which is also a work of genius but I'm glad I experimented with this one.
I also tried a dessert-like potation called Booth in the Back: Brugal Anjeo, Rhum Barbancourt 4yr, Brown Sugar Syrup, Whole Egg, Coffee Pecan Bitters, shaken, strained into highball over ice. Very good.

Peter, I hated gin after a bad Sapphire and Tropicana experience in college (fine, judge away). I have recently turned into an absolute gin drunkie.
