Just applied it… Dries with the quickness, not greasy at all, barely any scent. And it makes my hands feel very weird, in a good way, as if I'm wearing wax gloves  😃

It does. No tears or wounds in my hands after a whole day of work, and about 10 handwashes… Excellent!..

if you find the one you recommend on the site i linked above even better as its a local company

Truefitt & Hill shaving cream IMO is the best. Rich creamy lather,  1 tub lasts a year, you only need a drop if you whip it up well. Love West Indian Limes, Trafalgar and Sandalwood.

They make amazing colognes as well. That will actually stay on you all day long. Sandalwood, 1805 & Spanish Leather and my favorite scents.

good news, the Fendrihan website, seems very well stocked with some great options.

I would always recommend the Proraso creams / soaps.  Great value and in my experience quite long lasting.

                    http://www.fendrihan.com/proraso-green-oatmeal-shaving-soap-sensitive-skin-formula-p-366.html

The Proraso shave cream you get in a bowl is more like a dense cream, I started out scooping a couple of finger tips worth of cream and working it directly into the head of the wet shave brush.  I have since changed my technique and now just put the wet brush directly into the top of the bowl and give it a stir until the brush is loaded up before face lathering.  You don't need masses of cream to get a good lather with the proraso.

If you are feeling indulgent then they also do the castle forbes range of creams, very nice but pricey.

                    http://www.fendrihan.com/castle-forbes-lime-shaving-cream-p-1490.html?cPath=116_10_172

                    hope this helps

Creed Aventus was a spur of the moment purchase while killing an afternoon walking round my local department store while waiting for my car to be serviced.  So far so good, Mrs Trash approves and the scent seems to last for quite some time.

Creed is the real deal - the IH of aftershave if you like. I've worn their Green Irish Tweed for a few years now.

That Born sharp razor looks like a modern take on the old 1930's Rolls Razor design.

The Rolls razor was effectively a double edge safety razor that came in it's own tin that doubled as a honing and stropping frame.

The Born sharp system looks to be coming in at around $500, not much information out there about the product and the $500 pricetag has not been confirmed.

I suspect this razor will have a limited market, most folks who are seasoned DE or straight blade shavers will not go near this device ( this includes me ) for the following reasons:

                                      - DE shavers have a lot of time and money invested in shaving tools which give smooth consistent shaves
                                        - You can buy an awful lot of DE blades for the asking price of the Born Sharp

I don't want to be too negative about the product as I have not tried it, I just feel the product will be really hard to sell.

Nice set up!  Just wondering about your shave cream, are you using D R Harris cream decanted into what looks like a previously emptied Castle Forbes bowl?

How did you rate the Castle Forbes cream?  I really like it, the bowl is nice and easy to use as it is wide and gives loads of room to work your brush.  The lavendar scent Castle Forbes cream is on my shopping list at the moment.

On the flip side….bearding comes with its own set of fun things. Plus its really easy to do.
