I think that the cultural differences between the UK and the USA are best illustrated by how much we seem to love Will Ferrel, Steve Carrell etc.. over here, and how much we fucking hate Seth Rogen and his merry bunch.

My hatred of the 70s is nearly as great as my hatred of Will Ferrell, so a movie set in that decade and starring him is impossible for me to objectively consider.

Haha, yes I'll admit there are plenty of imaginary kittens with bloody noses in my fantasies due to some of the recent challenges! Show me some denim!!!

I would never ever ever wear my jeans in the tub during a soak or afterwords before they had dried.

I don't feel it's necessary. A piece of jeans lore, like much jeans lore and convention, that is overthinking things IMO. Hot soak if unsanforized, hang dry, wear. This works for me just fine.

It's a rare breed who enjoys the feel of wet denim next to his scrotum, whilst enjoying a long soak in the tub with a good book and a fine tobacco.

I wore my Flat Heads in the tub for their initial soak to ensure I'd be able to get them on again.
It wasn't a pleasurable experience.

A phrase from a product description on self edge comes to mind: "…some initial discomfort is well worth the wearing comfort later" (cited from memory).
I think this hits it quite accurately, I would not describe the feel of wearing my new jeans in the tub as particularly unpleasant, but in any event very much worth the later result. -
Fair enough, but what is the "later result"? My guess is it makes little to no difference, and I wouldn't change a thing about the fit of my Strike Golds and they've certainly molded to my body and activity…
