Friday you can go by MF charts they are accurate. I went 36 tts snug, its ok for me after now over a years wearing it and I am ususally not that kind of layering guy. for daily puposes and if I would buy the NOS blanket again I would go 38 though. The indigo drover is a tiny tiny bit different in cut imho prob due to the indigo dyed melton wool and enough space for a sweater and a denimjacket but still fitted like I love.

hmmm gonna wear the blanket right now for a nightwalk  😛

      Cheers,
      David

Friday mate snapped some quick crappy pics

tts size 36 with a tshirt could wear a shirt or a sweater but not layering a denim jacket. Dont need too this one is very warm due to the blanket and the inner flannel lining. 🙂 arms and shoulders are perfect per my gusto, its a very fitted jacket especially around shoulders and armpits. Over the long run i would prob better with a 38 but as long as i stay in this shape i pull it easy off

        Cheers,
        David

MF sites shows 48 ptp for a size 42 whereas SE 44 ptp. Im looking to wear it with only a thermal or a heavy T's (IH tees that is) if I'm buying one. If MF is more accurate my guess a 40 will fit my requirement. But gambling a $800plus is a big gamble I couldn't afford.

hehheheehe… you wear them well for sure..

                Hehe buddy

Fyi my blanket size 36 measures about half an inch less in chest than the melton size 38 per MF. means i could prob not wear a size 36 comfy and buttoned up in the melton like i can in the blanket.

But then everybody has its own gusto for comfort. I always prefer a bit the snugger side in tops

                Cheers,

It's time for a RoadChamp update (as requested by Scottystyles 😉 ).

These have not had any oils/waxes applied to them ever, they get brushed down if they get dirty, simples. They've been worn 1-2x a week since getting them, never blistered (close at one stage), I'd say they're almost fully broken in, they're really enjoyable to walk in, a combination of floating on air, and firm support. All photos straight out of the camera. No colour corrections or adjustments.

@davito, your wool drover is still 100% my favourite jacket ever. Pity it's not cold enough down here and I already have a ton of jackets. Please keep wearing and enjoying for at least 2 🙂 x

Oh yeah, they are looking nice Wade. Be super nice to eyeball them over a coffee. Correct me if I'm wrong, the leather front sole is correct for time in the early 1900's for building (I think(excuse my lack of knowledge or e-logic)) but I find it gets a little slippery on some surfaces. That's one thing that puts me off. I've been finding that on my leather sole boondockers. Every other aspect is absolutely outstanding though! Beautiful!

Beautiful snowy. A size 9 is available FS on denimbro. If face to face maybe I'm willing to bite the bullet but online from new member I'm a bit worried.

Hmm, starting to look at the John Lofgren engineers more now Snowy (sorry MF) Was browsing Rakuten a few months back and noticed them on speedway shop but haven't had the loot to lay down so I stopped looking. I guess knowing you guys there's probably a tread on here from them.

Scotty, I've only slipped once or twice since getting them, wouldn't say I've had problems with the leather. I will be getting them resoled when in Japan later this year. From earlier discussions with someone on here (tat?) the leather sole is both time correct, but also to help enable a rapid breaking-in of the boot. Once it's broken in you get it re-soled with a sole of your choice. That's what I signed up for/into and am happy to go with it. That is exactly what Christophe has done with his own pair, so does seem inline with the intent. (can be seen @ http://www.misterfreedom.com/images/cl_roadchamp_sept2011a60x68.jpg)
The reason I went MF, other than liking the brand, was I really really liked the way the leather evolved over time. JL does have a thread (you are a regular now ;)). A few of here have them, http://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5145

davito/Friday, thanks. I love wearing them and go to them as/for my every day shoes, look forward to many years of love.

Snow, I like the high instep strap too, very unique - and love the soft toe and the way the leather is breaking in - but I agree they will get a different sole in the future but I am OK with them as they are until the right time comes.  I did see where Tat did a resole (through Zip Stevenson) and as you noted so did Christophe. (Willie's in LA).  But it's a fact - they are treacherous on ice/snow and you are best off leaving them in the closet in those conditions.  Fortunately I'm "boot-rich" and have been wearing my White's when it's nasty out…
