Material wise, but maybe rough is the wrong word - it's just a tad prickly for me, but I have a wet-shaved head so maybe that isn't helping as my bonce is completely exposed.

ah, lets hope it softens with some wear then - or that you at least get used to it 🙂

3 grade Celsius, I wore the jacket with just an IH tee, open not closed, it was great 🙂

Hey I'm new here and never owned anything from Iron Heart.  I love this jacket after I tried the N1 from Orvis but it was baggy as hell.  I checked out the sizing but unsure if I should go with a S or M.  I am 5 '7"  155 lbs with an athletic build.  After reading this whole thread it sounds like a great fit.  Does it run on the slimmer side?  Thanks for any feedback before I order.

Obviously everyone is different and tbh I haven't looked at the measurements, but I think you would be a small in most iron heart things. They run decently large.

I am also 5"7 but weigh in at around 168lbs and the medium fit's me just about perfectly. Small would never have worked but I am relatively quite big on the shoulders.

loving this jacket and ive used it every day since i first got it, untreated so far. never thought id say this, but i like the long sleeves! and my arms are quite short too. i ride my bicycle a lot and if the sleeves were shorter id have exposed wrists, due to the heavy material and pretty narrow shoulders on this.

That is why the sleeves are long on many of the IH pieces, H wants them to be useable on a bike….

I have worn the jacket at -10 degrees Celisus with a heavy, not ultra heavy flannel and it was so toasty!!!

I wanted to offer a public service announcement and make a plea for help as well. On a cold night, I put this jacket on after getting my hair cut earlier in the day. I immediately realized my mistake and took it off, but it was already too late. The hair worked its way into the lining and I've been unable to get it out. I tried the two most obvious solutions - a lint roller and a vacuum cleaner's upholstery attachment. Neither one seemed to make much improvement and I'm now the owner of a $600 hair shirt until I can figure a way to remedy this. Might anyone be able to offer a suggestion?

worn this jacket literally every day, up until now, and i freakin love it. there is one thing id change though, which is not particularly true to the original, but id really prefer a snap button on the throat latch. for easier temp control when biking with gloves etc..

Or use some tape wrapped around ur hand (sticky side out of course). Hopefully that helps, lil hairs are sooo fuckin annoying
