    Some love for the Sonos Play:1 at El Reg.

      I ended up ordering a Play:1 on the weekend. I ordered locally as I imagined after taking advantage of Gile's kind offer I'd only be about 20-30 ahead.

        Turns out that "locally" was a HK shop front that is yet to fulfil my order 😡. Have been hitting Brick and Mortar shops for the last week, finally found 1 with a Play:1 in stock.

        Grouped it with my existing Play:3, first thought "Holy shit this is awesome".

        Play:3 in front of me, Play:1 behind me. Looks like I'll be getting another Play:1 at some point (this Play:1 is for the bedroom).

          I got a Playbar and Sub the other day. Surprisingly easy to set up, and when combined with the (free?) bundled edition of Spotify is a fantastic combination.

          As Giles said, people pick it up easily. Trail and Arrow has hijacked my system now. 🙂

            Spotify just got the Led out, so impeccable timing Graeme.

                Only the first four albums so far.

                If you like Zep, search Spotify for the symphonic version of Kashmir, which was done by Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke.

                        Thanks for the offer, but I have an emceeQ here (well, in body if not mind atm), so he should be able to do it.....

                                  OK.  Mike and I spent this morning trying to get it to work.  The bridge was fine and we could see that but no matter what we did we could not get to see the Sonos Play 5.  We popped into the office and picked up the 5 from there, it works fine.  So it looks like I have a bust Sonos Play 5.  Anyone had one fail on them?

                                  Pair or Sonos Play 1 plus bridge (well, it comes free) just ordered.

                                    I wonder if it's somehow locked itself out on the wrong channel?

                                    Try reset it using the 'process';

                                      Second thoughts, if you plug a laptop running the software directly into the ethernet port of the Play:5 does it pick up then? (If not, does that work on the other Play:5, if not ignore the test)

                                        We did a reset it works.  Now how am I going to break the news to Paula that I needlessly bought 2 more Sonos components?

                                          You didn't needlessly buy anything. Send them to Snowy to compensate him for his tech support.
