I feel very lucky, mine have felt great all along. Stiff at first, but that doesn't bother me. Never even a hint of a blister. I think I'd return or sell boots that hurt me.

I assume the celastic toe box makes a big difference. If it were just leather I think it'd be a lot easier. I normally would not want boots that hurt me but it was too late by the time I realized it. However, I think my other boots could fit a bit more snugly but I never bothered with breaking in a pair, or getting one as quality as Viberg.
I love the idea of a custom feeling fit if I can make it through a bit of break in time. I guess I could still end up being the loser in the end though…

i walk on the "wide" side__ E on U.S. & Canadian & G-H [or 6 fitting] on UK. my Loden Green Service boots on the 2005 last were tight, initially.
1st, 'prepped the leather with conditioner & finished up with a Red Wing Mink Oil [leather softener]. then, stuck shoe trees in them & slipped some cardboard to keep the vamp taut. 'set them aside for a couple of days to allow the conditioner/oil to seep in + dry up a bit.
2nd, wore them with thinner socks, then gradually progressed to heavier weight once they started to open up.

honestly, the 1 & only apprehension i have that's preventing me from pulling the trigger are the leather soles …. 'just could never get used to them. but, if they're EXACTLY like the soles on the 8" ENGINEER BLACK [Japanese] HORSEHIDE__ ie, Cat's Paw half-soles, i'm mosdef on board.
FOK said if we can "… scrounge up enough guys in week", we can make it for round 2. LET'S DO THIS PEEPS!!!

Very happy for SSOL, and those greens are cool, sure to evo crazy, abrasions showing up brighter green.

Yeah, they look great with ducks. The loden green is more versatile than you'd think. As it ages, it goes more toward brown, which gives it some nice variations in tone. Love mine.

haha. the left is actually a shot of my boot. Gorgeous leather. I cant stress that enough.

i noticed the inside heel/back stay are lightening a bit already due to abrasion … 'was thinking about how it will evolve down the line. the leather is not dyed through, so as it wears in on the high traffic/friction areas, the surface color will gradually fade/slough off, revealing the undyed leather.for a self-proclaimed denimhead
, that is an outstanding evo to look forward to. -
I'll try to get something up in the next couple of days. They're due for a bit of maintenance work, so I might do some before and after shots.

SF Loden Green Service Boots is tempting, but it looks like Viberg.com is introducing new boots every couple of weeks. "Service Boot in Natural Essex available online next week".
