funny as hell EastWest, I'm just thinking about me walking into my closet & noticing things are out of "order" & asking my wife & kiddies about it thinking they playing a joke on me cause they know i'm crazy.  i tend to do item numbers like d666 just cause it lets me know how old the item is & how well it is or isn't holding up.

**remind me to lock my bedroom door if any of you hooligans visit, hahahahaha

My theory is that the numbering system is paranoia based. Only you will be able to detect when someone's been rifling through your wares 😃 😉

The main reason I can't do that is I don't know most of the model numbers. I think I'm wearing a 72 right now.

        Think it, be it.

I feel like I'm ordering breakfast at a cheesy vegas breakfast joint when referring to shirts by numbers. "That 37 is the shit!"

I have my IH stuff in order by weight/type.

I'm not too anal about it but I did freak my GF out once having something to do with my closet. I came home from work and I noticed one of my shirts had moved a little bit. I asked her if she tried on one of my shirts. "How the fuck did you know that!?!"  I see everything.

Some get bit by the bug & some get consumed by it. i refer to almost all items by name & number or make up my own names & expect folks to keep up when I'm talking about them, hahahahahaha.

it's embarrassing but i embrace all my madness & figure it's just one of my many cliff clavenn (Cheers) talents.

Yeah I'm bad with names too. So it's less about level of obsession than it is the way my head works (or doesn't).

I gotta confess, I don't know the numbers for any of the gear.  Every time I need to mention something, I have to look it up on the store website.

Really?.. That's weird, Chris… It took some time but by now I know most items by number... Do you aso have issues remembering names or names of beers and such?.. My mate - a huge beerlover - has this thing where he can't remember the names of the beers he loves... How do you cope with that?.. It's beyond me... I know price, expiry date (!), and random info like that about all the beers I love!..

I remember beer names, though human names are a challenge.  I just don't think of what I'm wearing today as "IHSH-72."  I think of it as a red buffalo check Western flannel.

Nope, I can remember names, I just don't bother with numbers.  Usually, I'll just go with a description, like "wabash work shirt" or "black rider's jacket" and that works fine.

Oddly, I can remember lots of watch movement numbers with no problem (I can tell you the difference between an ETA 2824 and a 2836, or a Poljot 3133 and a 31681, for instance).

You sure?  How about the variations on the 7750 chronograph movement?  My favorite is the 7753.

No need to say chronograph when describing a 7750 everybody knows that 🙂

                                        Ok watching it…
