Raged through two supermarkets only NOT to find the fucking Delirium Christmas. Took a brochure home from one of the stores, noticed this (promotions starting today):

        So yeah: soon…  🙂

Lovely beer Eli, my evening choice is not so grand just a regular Gouden Carolus classic.

I wouldn't consider BL my favorite, but I find myself drinking it more than anything else. So, I guess in a round about way, it's my favorite? Cheers…

I had a bottle of the St Bernardus Christmas Ale last night just before I went to bed, it comes in at 10% so it is no lightweight brew and it took me a good 40 minutes to go through a bottle. It's dark, smooth and has a very subtle spiced flavour which definitely tells you that it's a Christmas beer, whilst also doing a great job of masking the taste of any alcohol. This was the Christmas beer that I was most looking forward to trying as I enjoyed the St Bernardus Abt 12 so much, and as a drinking experience it did not disappoint.

That was the good side, now here is the bad…

I had one bottle, just the one and I wake up with a hangover !!! This has not happened with ANY of the other strong Belgian beauties I have been enjoying but this one is a quiet and charming assassin who delivers a seasonal headache!! I'm at the same time pleased and terrified that I have another 7 bottles of this to get through over the festive period.

In summary, brilliant beer but it has an aftermath like Scorpions finishing move from Mortal Combat.

Yeah this happens somtimes, Gav… Sometimes I wake up hungover knowing I didn't have much. It depends on so many things, though... A trained drinker should know this...  😃

Drink the yeast at the bottom of the bottle (if applicable)! It's loaded with B12 complex and good for you (and hangovers)!

Speaking of which… My shipment has arrived, had a text from my sister the other day "Was there something you forgot to tell me?"

Yes, yes there was... So good news: It's in the U.K. The bad news: I don' know when I'll be collecting it. Might have to have a trip to Stoke sometime next week...
