              Thanks, guys.

Joe, the road gods demand their tribute.  I've put a ton of miles on that thing in the last year.  It needed a change, anyway.  I've already introduced frame to sawzall…

Urban dictionary definition of a badass. ^^^ that bike fits the definition!!

The badass is an uncommon man of supreme style. He does what he wants, when he wants, where he wants. You won't find him on facebook, myspace, msn et cetera because he is probably out being cool somewhere. He might be on a motorcycle, but it's probably not a Harley or a crotch rocket because he won't spend that much money to be accepted. Traditionally, he will smoke, but it's not necessary at all. He feels no obligation whatsoever to justify his beliefs, values, convictions, morals et cetera with anyone. He likes his music because it sounds cool to him. You won't find him if you look for him because there is no sure way to identify him. One does not think that he is badass; he KNOWS it and that's that. Alternatively, a badass is the complete opposite of a douchebag.

                          Slipping gradually into senility

I got my motorbike licence today, looking forward to getting a bike in the next few months and building up some experience and skill.  In the meantime I've rewarded myself with an IHSI-02 (which I bought pre-emptively, lucky I passed, haha).

congrats and take it easy - the first 1000 miles are the most dangerous - your learning curve will be straight up then flatten out.  enjoy!!!  P.S. having nice gear helps!

Thanks guys, I'm pretty excited, and I'll definitely be taking it easy, working on orthopaedic wards in years gone by I saw far too many young guys who didn't.  I've been looking at SR400/500s and W400s, since we're limited in the first 12 months to less powerful bikes, and I'm fond of cafe racers. Later on I'd like to get a Triumph Scrambler and modify it a bit, and a Harley 48 or Nightster is on the cards at some point. I love to tinker and it seems with bikes there's such a huge range of aftermarket parts and the costs are a bit less prohibitive than modifying cars.
