      @Blackheart:

      I love the Hinderer design on that knife, so solid and good looking. I have that one on my list, locally the
      black is hard to find for some reason…Probably more popular than the tan. I almost bought the tan a few
      months ago but decided to hold out for the black. Blade shape is excellent, if I recall the blade is not spring
      assisted...

      Are you talking about the 0560? That one isn't spring assisted.
      This is the brand new 0566. I got lucky even finding it as most people who preordered still do not have it. It's much smaller and is spring assisted.

        Yes, the 0560 I know isn't spring assisted, the 0566 is. Just checked that. The one I saw was the 0560, the
        0566 is the one I want. I'm hoping the guy at the gun show has these, I haven't seen one here locally yet.
        What is the blade length on the 0566?

                        Doug's the knife man that's for sure! 3 1/4" sounds perfect, thanks for the look up mac 😉 I'm a fan of Rick's
                        knives, that 0566 will be a winner if I can find one.

                          He is one of the makers that I just will never own. His stuff is way hyped, over priced and in all honestly I was completely unimpressed with the man when I tried to meet him/talk to him at Blade '11. At Blade shows his booth gets about 5+ people thick/ mobbed so I waited in line for about a half hour to get to talk to the man, I'm up next and he just walks away to talk to someone else. I've had some great experiences with knife makers and will gladly give them my money, but not him.

                              I've owned a production Hinderer xm-18 and will say the fit and finish for a production folder is stellar. I was picked in one of his lotteries a couple of years ago and the price was $328. I think that his table price is more than fare for the product you get. The problem is his productions go for at least twice the table price on the secondary market. The secondary prices are not worth it for me. To make it worse, his customs are really outrageous. They consist of a hand ground blade on one of his production frames. We're talking starting at 1500 to upwards of 2500. Agreed, his stuff is highly inflated… buuuut everything he makes sells either on table or secondary

                                I know nothing about this maker, but I really enjoy his style.  It's a marriage of old school slipjoint/lockback knives with a little bit of a modern splash.  Anyone familiar?

                                  I've seen a few of his makes appear this last year on the scene. His work looks good on paper/photo, but I haven't handled his work personally. Not sure what his price points are, but since he's a newer maker, you might be getting a great value.
