I just purchased a pair of S5000vx 25oz, as my first Samurai. The denim feels really nice and it´s the darkest i've seen for a while (similar to Flat head 14,5oz). It dosnt feel as heavy and brutal as IH 25oz, and as i doscovered af few ours later it really isn't. I even used the smaller silhuette 666 25oz to compare with - Less fabric dispite the much higher rise.

Weight was :

Samurai S5000vx 25 oz = 1.252 kg
IH 666 25 oz = 1.408 kg

If the IH 25 oz really is 25oz and i believe it is, This Samurai must be 22/23 oz.

Damn i feel like a geek now…......so not rock'n roll.

I have some 710 Sammies in 19oz and they don't feel anywhere near as heavy as my IH 666 18oz…..but I still like them alot.

Per Gordon: the hawk series has been confirmed in the 17 oz. zero denim, will also be produced in either the 15, 21, or 25 oz. all in the 710 cut and hope to have them produced by spring of 2014.

Off by 2 sizes compared to my Samurai standard size - due to fabric and construction I doubt that they stretch a lot, unless you have the right tools and go through the effort…
