Rivet and Hide

All back to normal
-
We are going to be in the workshop virtually every day until the end of the month so get in touch if you!re visiting London during this time or considering a visit. just book by appointment first danny@rivetandhide.com
As always, we can be very flexible with times. After work appointments are very popular. -
But any visit would, more than likely involve spending money… On the other hand it would be a shame to be in London and not visit... hmm. Thinking.
-
@tmg:
Would love to drop in as will be up in town week after next accompanying my wife on a shopping trip, but unless you have any women's jeans it's possible I may not be able to persuade her
I certainly do. You're both more than welcome

Well… I went for a visit... Danny now has all my money ;).
It was great to meet him and Junior (briefly). Stuff was looked at, stuff was tried on and inevitably stuff was bought...
I now know what size I take in TFH shirts and by extension RJB shirts.
I also know what I want for Xmas

It was great to meet you, MP. Nice way to spend a Sunday morning.
Oh, and thanks for all your money! Much Appreciated
-
Thanks, still very tempted by that IndigoFerra jacket. And TFH Wabash… Probably a good job that you don't stock any boots at the moment as well ;).
Already looking forward to my next visit.

I'm working on a boot idea. Early days.
Check out the thickest flannel TFH has ever made with indigo design dropping later this week. It has the substantial feeling of wool with the softness and comfort of cotton. -

I've dropped in a couple of times…
Top tip - take the cash you can afford and leave the credit card at home
It's a magical place where money can disappear in minutes

Well, yes, I know that know ;)…

So, Rivet and Hide…
Easy to get to, lots and lots of lovely things to try on and extremely helpful staff :). Generates the same vibe as VMC Original does. I highly recommend a visit for anyone in London, and also anyone not in London as well.
Danny will appreciate more foot traffic, and I'd appreciate them moving to larger premises so as to stock more IH gear
(tried an IHSH-33 on, only didn't buy it because I have a 76 arriving.)
A great selection of a large amount of brands in a compact space.
Tried on a fair amount of IndigoFerra stuff (more gushing to follow in the appropriate thread), really nice stuff again, thankfully not too much in my size. But another brand I will eventually buy and like UES something I would not have appreciated without the opportunity to try the products on.
In the immortal words of a certain cyborg:
"I'll be back"
And in the meantime, there's always the online store. Which I had no problems with at all. Despite what anyone else might say
-
MP, sounds like you had fun at Rivet and Hide, and I agree about the Indigoferra stuff. I managed to get a Fargo last time I was there.
Which reminds me, I really need to go there to see if Junior can sew up my jeans fairly soon.
Wilberforce, leaving the card at home won't help. Danny has a website.
(And as for it being a magical place, does that mean it's where Agent Coulson has been hanging out since the Avengers?)

We took stock of UES thick 3 ply socks in grey and navy.
The UES Craftsmen and women in Okayama operate a rare and old machine with 102 needles that weaves the cotton into a low gauge knit. The 3 ply uneven thread gives the appearance of nep.
They feel really soft and ooze quality. -
The Indigo Houndstooth Flannel is the thickest The Flat Head has ever made.
It is yet another 'special' piece taking the bar even higher. It is so thick it has the warmth and substantial feel of wool with all the luxurious comfort of cotton.
The ivory base is covered with an intricate indigo houndstooth pattern.
The inside is brushed extremely soft and the collar, pocket flaps, and cuffs are canvas lined.
Pearloid Universal snaps are used as buttons for the shirt. The shuttle on the loom had to be exchanged every 5 minutes during the weaving so difficult was the procedure.
Because of this only a limited amount of these shirts was made.NB. The shirt runs slightly smaller than other western flannels we have carried. You may or may not need to size up so check the size charts.

What hajduk said! A beauty…
-
The only reason I haven't bought that beauty is that I'm swearing myself off of new shit outside of what's currently on my roadmap. What a bitchin shirt…
