In North Germany we don't wear that stuff. In Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg it's more common to own and wear this costume. But mainly for theme parties -
I think it's great. We have a lot of Germans here (I have a lot of German blood as well) and there's a great German place called Gasthof zur Gemutlichkeit (http://www.gasthofzg.com) and everybody goes nuts there year round and especially now. Waitresses in lederhosen, tons of German beer, huge mugs and boots, snuff, and good food too. Downstairs is all polka, drinking, and dancing. Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi!

Jacket looks great Flo, and I now what you mean about the Alpha stuff. I had an N-3B which was extremely lightweight compared to my Buzz N-3B.
